I had a feeling that you were going to ask me that. :D Really the next step is figuring out if other changes need to be made and if there are any SQ issues that we can improve. I say that because half of the disc is not SBD and not much can be done to those songs, but it is still worth trying if you have any issues with those songs (Non-SBD).

Overall this project is tight and the it sounds really good regardless of the fact that have of it is from an audience source. I believe that everybody will be pleased with the finished project. I know that this has been my favorite one to listen too so far.

Yeah this one has come together pretty quickly, it sounded awesome to me, regardless of the source. An old adage comes to mind..... 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it!!' 8-)

I will have a complete detailed listen to Version1 right now, and say if I can hear any problem areas etc

    Yeaaaah !!!! :D

I like this 'generation' much better.
Giving it one more listen, but I don't really see what should / could be changed there.

The only thing is .... it's a bit short ;)

    Ok I can't resist..

"Naked eye" is an all time favorite who cover and there is a bit of a mystery to the track I am goig to recommend:

There is a similar complitation called "squeeze box" on this pj fan site:

    http://www.pearljamonline.it/mp3.htm

scroll down the page and you will find the "squeeze box" compilation and links.

This version of Naked eye is credited to the 11/5/96 solo show Ed did with the fastbacks but its not from that show.
I have heard that version and this version side by side and its a different performance from some other show.
I have never been able to ID the source.
The good news is that its excellent sound quality with just one minor goof in Ed's vocal (cracks his voice once)..
If you download the compilation you will posess this rare gem..
very few people have this clip..

I realize you do not want to rip off this person's compliation but there is one other good choice (specifically "I'm one" from 11/27/00.. Ed solo.. its the best version there is out there)

Finally, check out the 7/3/03 Mansfield version of Baba..

I think its superior to your pick , crowd is louder too..

Just my opinion, you guys seem to have the best instincts so keep doing what you do best!

Cool, thank you for that suggestion. I will have to check it out.

We had some discussion about the 'squeeze box' collection, and I think we concluded that since quite a few people knew of it already, we would try and do something a bit different, and try and use some different versions too

and to add a little bit to what Tremors said, we also do not what to use tracks that have actual members of The Who in them. Most all of the current Who compilations have this and it is a way of just filling space (IMO). We want our compilation to be different from the others. Our compilation pays tribute to The Who, that's one reason we don't include songs that have members of The Who on them, and our compilation is short and sweet. When I say "short and sweet", I mean that it gets to the point, pays tribute, embodies the spirit of The Who, and clocks in (currently) under 50 minutes. I do believe that when everybody gets this compilation, they will be very pleased at the outcome.

Tremors, Myra, and I could have not done this again without the help of everybody on this thread who has lent their suggestions and support for this project. We have all created this project. :D

    Version 2??
    Is there a need?
Any lingering SQ issues that need to be fixed?
    Anything else we can add?
Did Eddie cover any Who songs during his solo tours in '08 & '09?

If we answer 'no' to most or all of these questions, then is this project ready for release?

No time like the present. Let me have one full run through right now, just to hear the vibe, and I'll see you in 50 minutes! If you can't wait, set it loose. The Who were always a bit rough and ready anyways!

Ed did "I'm One" quite a bit on his solo tour of 2008.

The chicago show has the best sound quality and a great pre-song Ed sepak but if the train has already left the station let 'er rip!

hahaha - I'm not sure if the train has quite left the station yet, but it's getting dangerously close! Cam4Pres is ably driving so we'll see what he thinks when he gets here! This time around I can't keep track of all the versions and sources suggested. All I know is that the current mix kicks ass

    Hey Locked,

The train has not left the station (I'm standing in front of the train and the engineer is getting pissed :D ).

I know that this is kind of taboo on here, but do you know where I can find that Ed solo version of I'm One. I have several of his shows, but not that one. If you would like, you can PM myself, Tremors or Myra with that info. I don't mind holding up the train little longer if I can add a good Ed solo version of I'm One.
I am the artist formally known as "Cameron4President"....
