That is without a doubt the greatest collection of artists I have ever seen listed together, other than that Pearl Jam band you speak of.

Richard Marx is the voice of his generation, thats for sure!

I think that is the greatest list ever...well, besides Creed, Kid Rock, the random lady, and Richard Marx. Besides them, it's top shelf, stick side.

    Pearl Jam
    Bad Religion
    Neil Young
    Alice in chains
    Queens of the stone age

I can't believe how many here had Counting Crows in their lists! They are worse than bad.

Lots of great choices though. It's tough to make a list, but PJ always remains number one.

Pearl Jam are top for me

closely followed by REM, Live, RATM, and Springsteen
  • Top three for me. Along with Foo Fighters and Soundgarden.
  • I don't really know where I'd put them in my top five. Or whether they'd be in my top five bands at all. Here's about how far down they are in the list.

    1. The Black Keys
    2. The Red Sun Band
    3. Rolling Stones
    3. Led Zeppelin
    5. Darkest Hour
    6. The Hives
    6. The Subways
    6. Pearl Jam

wow the black keys.........really? I dont get them at all
  • I obviously older than most of the folks who have posted on this thread - I was around for the late 1960's and early 1970's and have seen some of the great bands of all time live: Zepplin, Who, Genesis (w/ and w/o P Gabriel, Allman Brothers (W/Duane) Springsteen (Pre Born in USA 3 and post 2) Pink Floyd, Grateful Dead (with Garcia), Dylan. Also saw the Stones - which in my humble opinion are the most over rated band in the history of Rock.

Saw Pearl Jam for the first time earlier this year and was blown away.

    My list:
    1. Pearl Jam
    2. Led Zepplin
    3. Springsteen and E Street
    4. Pink Floyd
    5. tie Allman Brothers and early Genesis
  • 1 pearl jam
    2 kyuss
    3 alice in chains
    4 black sabbath-with ozzy.
    5 qotsa
    COYS!
  • active bands:
    1. pj
    2. phish (wouldn't have been on this list a few weeks ago)
    3. widespread panic (not the same without houser but can't drop em cause of that)
    4. mmj
    5. 311

if we're going all time it'd look like this
    1. pj
    2. dead
    3. phish
    4. string cheese incident
    5. bob marley
    Music for Rhinos

I love Pearl Jam! Anyone around me will tell you I listen to them too much. Been hooked since the Alive video. That said I don't know if I can squeeze them in my top 5 bands ever.

    1. Led Zeppelin
    2. The Beatles
    3. Pink Floyd
    4. The Who
    5. Pearl Jam

Well I guess I did but it's still a stretch.
