I like some of their music, but Billy in not a serious musician, and I'll never take him seriously.
Now I know Ed pokes fun, but usually he has a good reason..
And Billy, Glow is a HORRIBLE song.
Amen.
Billy has been a little off his rocker lately...
I was reading an article about a recent show in NYC where he was mocking the city and making fun of the crowd for coming to see him....WTF????
Seriously, Billy just hang it up dude.33...0 -

Corgan's an asshat plain and simple. I enjoy most of his music, but the guy's ego is bigger than his current career. We are the facilitators of our own creative evolution.--Bill Hicks0

It's really funny when you think about it a little. Here's the quote he said "And if the Cubs did have any chance this past year, Eddie Vedder killed that dead." Eddie [Vedder] ain't living here, [so he can't] write a song about my team."
The fact is Ed did write a song about the Cubs. The fact is every bar in Chicago played the song almost nonstop during the end of the season. The fact is the Cubs fans fuckin fell in love with the song. The fact is the Cubs organization embrassed it. They played it on the loud speakers during the celebration after they clinched. The kicker to all this is that Fuckin Mr. Cub Ernie Banks is the one who asked Ed to write a song about the team. And if Ernie Banks is behind it, then who the hell is Billy Corgan to reject it.
Fuck off you bald pretentious hack. This dude must bottle his own farts and sits around sniffing it.
Okay that's my last post about Bill Corgan.0 -
That was hardly a harsh slam to Eddie. Relax.0

I actually think that Corgan did some radio play-by-play for the Cubs a few years back.
He is probably just a little envious of Ed's song getting all of the attention. I think he is getting bashed a little to harshly on this thread for what he said. He has had a rough patch but some of his earlier work was really good (even though his voice sounds like he was kicked in the nuts by a goat at an early age).Be Excellent To Each OtherParty On, Dudes!0 -
I went to a bunch of the Pumpkins shows this tour and they were OK at best. I would have traded all of those shows I went to for 3 Vedder solo songs! Corgan should not be able to be in the same room as Ed and the boys. CORGAN SUCKS! I used to be a big fan but he ruined it. He is too busy making new horrible 30 minute jam outs that sound like shit, instead of playing from the catalog of great songs he already has.0

Bonesmagoo wrote:I was at the Smashing Pumpkins show tonight in Chicago, and Billy joked about how he should write his own Cubs song. He pointed out that, aside from his arrogance, you'd have to admit that he could write a better one than Steve Goodman. Then he stated something along the lines of, "...and last I checked Eddie Vedder doesn't live in Chicago". I have to admit, I think Eddie got served.
The show was fucking amazing by the way.
Corgan isn't bashing Vedder though, c'mon. He's making a joke...he could've easily replaced Vedder with Bono or any other well-known songwriter.0 -

Smashing Pumpkins don't play sports“I know this song so well, I can smoke a cigarette, have a drink, brush my teeth, take a shit, and mow the lawn while singing it. But I'll only be doing a couple of those things during this version.”0

Billy Corgan lost the plot a long long time ago.
He let his bloated ego take the wheel and now his career has crashed in the ditch.
This Floundering Circus Parody of a band bares little resemblence to the Smashing Pumkins of the early to mid 1990's.
Corgan should spend less time dissing his peers and more time learning how to re-invent the wheel that he rode in on.0 -
I went to the show on Saturday at the Wang Theatre in Boston and it was great...I'm really glad he didn't say anything about Eddie or Pearl Jam or whine about how people hate him...it would have put a really bad taste in my mouth and ruined the showBoston II 9/29/04, Bonnaroo 6/14/08, Mansfield II 6/30/08

Wow, you guys need to get over it. Billy Corgan made fun of Eddie Vedder. Wow, Ed's never said anything insulting about another band.

The Smashing Pumpkins is Billy Corgan and Jimmy Chamberlin. They wrote and recorded almost all of their songs. And by recorded, I mean recorded. James and Darcy were barely in the studio for most of their albums. And yes, that includes Siamese Dream and Melancholy.

You're complaining about bands who tour without their original line up. How many F-in' drummers has Pearl Jam had? I don't see anyone complaining about how The Who is touring with only half of its original members. People need to get over what they think is a band, and just deal with what they are. Lineups change, and so do bands. Expectations are the killer of any piece of art. Good or bad.0
