I feel your pain! I took me 40 shows to hear it. It was worth it though. Easily the greatest moment at any PJ show I have been to. The only problem is, I want to hear it again!
To be honest... I don't really remember because I didn't know much about them. I got a free ticket from a friend who didn't have a car and needed a ride. I was a total 'Nirvana' guy in 1993 and didn't listen to 'Ten' all that much. I only knew of 'Jeremy' and 'Evenflow' from the radio and the MTV... I thought they sang, 'Dead Or Alive' and I hate that song... I thought Pearl Jam was Bon Jovi because I got that song mixed up with 'Alive'.
Turns out... the first song at Indio, CA., 1993 was 'Release'. Again, to be honest... the only other song I knew from that gig was 'Baba O'Riley'.
But... that gig was a game changer for me. I loved what I heard. After that, I ran out an picked up 'Vs.' from the record store and immediately loved it.
