Hope he wins it. Interesting to see Vedder and Cornell go head to head. Maybe we'll get a semi-Temple of the Dog reunion if they both perform at the Grammys.0
-
Awesome, though it sucks that Falling Slowly happens to be nominated at the same time because that's also a great song.

OH NO! Eddie is up against Chris Cornell for the song he did for James Bond. I love James Bond and Chris Cornell. On the other hand, I love Eddie and Into the Wild. Hmm, oh yeah I just remembered, I have absolutely no say in who wins anyway. YAY! Bliss.0

Awesome! He must win!
Oh, Cornell's song is also nominated in this category...
Guaranteed is a better song than You Know My Name."I surfaced and all of my being was enlightened"0 -
Cornell's song does NOT belong there. It's not good. In fact, Carry On as a whole is a pretty bad album. (I'm a Cornell fan, but I have to be brutally honest...)
Anyhow, Guaranteed is a fucking fantastic song. I'm glad that it was chosen among all the other possible ITW tracks. I think it has a chance, although Falling Slowly is probably the favorite.Everything has chains...Absolutely nothing's changed. - PJ

That was released in 2006 so I don't think it was eligible for this year (didn't get any nominations last year either, IIRC).
I think the song from "Once" will probably win but still, a lot of good artists are represented this year. Vedder, Cornell, Springsteen, Foo Fighters. Although I can't beleieve they got an "Album of the Year" nomination.
Shouldn't but too much stock into these awards but it's fun to discuss I guess.0 -

I believe it is a 9/30 cut off. So the period covered by this years awards is 10/1/06 - 9/30/07.SHOW COUNT: (170) 1990's=3, 2000's=53, 2010/20's=114, US=124, CAN=15, Europe=20 ,New Zealand=4, Australia=5

While I am happy to see EV get the much deserved recognition...I just don't take much stock into alla those little statue shows...it really doesn't matter much to me, in the grand scope of things.
Just like the RnR HoF...who's to say that just because you aren't IN that you don't matter?
Besides,there is never a 1st place prize in art.0 -
All I know is that James Bond song is kinda weak...10.31.93 / 10.1.94 / 6.24.95 / 11.4.95 / 10.19-20.96 / 7.16.98 / 7.21.98 / 10.31.00 /8.4.01 Nader Rally/ 10.21.01 / 12.8-9.02 / 6.01.03 / 9.1.05 / 7.15-16,18.06 / 7.20.06 / 7.22-23.06 / Lolla 070
