Cancelling prom over lesbians?

    I just happened to see this thread and wanted to say that my senior prom was OVER twenty years ago and we had a lesbian couple there. New york vs. Mississippi :roll:

    Maybe it's cause I'm from Liberal old Canada... But this is just unthinkable. There are some kids that were openly gay. Did they get SOME shit from people that were uncomfortable? Absolutely, and that's wrong. I would say 95% supported them, or even better, just didn't give a shit.
    Believe me, when I was growin up, I thought the worst thing you could turn out to be was normal, So I say freaks in the most complementary way. Here's a song by a fellow freak - E.V

    No one gave these girls any shit that i knew of. We just all thought it was cool that they were going together. They were the only openly gay couple (my age) that i knew back when i was 16.

    Mainly its a couple guys talking shit about the gay guys 'they like to take it up the ass' etc.. etc.. Then again, everyone gets shit on for something high school.
