so is that may 18th date going to be a boston or nyc? i wish we knew that much.

I believe it will be a Boston show. I highly doubt that Boston will only get 1 show. I am hoping to hit Hartford and Boston. I am very much looking forward to this tour. I just wish they would finally allow them to play Fenway.....
Not too much a fan favorite on this site for many but I think a Fenway show would be great. I saw the Police a couple years back and it was awesome!

I got a dilema... MSG 2 or Senior Prom in Philly?

Go to MSG1 and go to your prom. Unless you dont have a date yet and you dont really want to go.

But don't grow up too soon. Enjoy your the last month of your senior year, enjoy your prom. You won't see more than half of of these people a year from now and then the next thing you know it will your 20th reunion. You probably don't see it now because you are in the middle of it. But coming from some one who just had their 20th and I am now looking in, it really is such a special time in your life. Concerts will come and go. Some of these people you see every day won't be there after graduation.

Ok sappy story alert...The after party to my prom, we went to a friend's house. This guy that I knew was there. We weren't friends but certainly not enemies. We got to talking that night and realized we weren't than much different, loved a lot of the same things, we laughed and talked most of the night. We become friends that night. About 5 years ago I hear he had passed, doing something that he loved to do. I absolutley cherish the conversation we had that night. So you just never know what we come of your prom.

    Just my 2 cents.

As usual I feel like 10C stole money from me with their vague 'tweet' compelling me to renew. Maybe mention in the 'tweet' that if you don't live on the east coast there's no reason to be in the 10c.
losing you 10c number is one reason to stay in 10c ;)

yeah, I really need a low number when they don't play a concert within driving distance. What a fucking money-grab.

My advice: don't live in the middle of nowhere. Not trying to be some arrogant NYC resident here but things look this way for the following reason (which to me seems pretty obvious): 48% of the country lives in the eastern time zone, 29% Central, 6.5% Mountain, and 16.5% West. If roughly 3/4 of the country lives east of the Mississippi, you can understand pretty clearly why so many places are left out west of it. You people in Atlanta - I can understand your bitching, and even Phoenix if it has been 7yrs (seems like a stop they could have made en route to/from Austin this past Fall between the CA dates, honestly). I guess my point is if you want to see PJ (or any other band!) play a show in your area, try relocating to where the action is and stop complaining.

    And one more thing:

I think we can expect a tour in the late summer/early fall with Soundgarden opening. There are a shit ton of rumors about this, and the Soundgarden camp has been extremely quiet about their touring plans following the announcement of their regrouping. Safe to say at that point they'll be playing some shows in cities that have been ignored the last few tours...and while I'm clearly excited about the May shows in the northeast, I'm really keeping my fingers crossed for something when the news of their post-Europe plans is announced.

    OK I got it planned!!!

Me and my buddy who loves Phish and has not seen PJ live (he will return the favour with a Phish show and he is in the Phish fan club and I have not seen them live!):

Toronto to Cleveland on Saturday, go to Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on Saturday, stay over, go to Jacob's Field for Detroit vs Cleveland on Sunday afternoon, Pearl Jam Sunday night, stay over, drive 3 hours to Buffalo for Monday night show then 1 1/2 hour home to T.O.

Should be a great road trip... now just need to get my Ten Club tickets and May 18th TBD to end up being Toronto ;-)

I don't think you can really call that a rock 'n' roll hall of fame, no rush...no nugent :D:lol: ? but madonna...donna summers   :lol: ?

Phish doesn't have a fan club

To everyone who's feeling left out of this tour, I feel your pain. As one of the many who have not been fortunate enough to live in a state where PJ has played for the past 7 years (yeah, we've moved and landed in some places where the boys don't stop too often), I understand how frustrating it is to not be able to attend as many PJ shows as one would like.

That being said, I've not missed a "tour" since '96 - and for those of you who remember the Ticketmaster war that was going on in '96, you'll know why I use this term loosely - ...I've just had to drive a little bit further to attend a few of them. Frankly, I've appreciated the shows more since they were not always easy to attend.

And, to say the band doesn't care about its fans as much as the "old days"...maybe that's true, I don't know. Yeah, I didn't like the nosebleeds at United Center last summer, sitting amongst several 10c members who haven't allowed their memberships to lapse over the past 2 decades. I do know that the all-inclusive trip I won to see them in San Diego was, quite simply, a fucking amazing way to show me the band cares about its fans.

So, we gotta take the good with the bad. It could be worse - we could be over-saturated with shitty music from a band way past their prime...I'll leave it at that, since this is not a Rolling Stones message board. Whether you like the last two albums or not, they're not the same recycled music that other bands put out as "new." 9 studio albums, 9 different tones and attitudes...if that makes the new music shit, then I guess I'll keep buying their shit then.

By the way, I'm planning to drive a considerable distance for this "tour," too...they're not playing close to home again, but, like every other show, I know they're gonna earn my ticket cost yet again.

Any West coast shows? or was last September it . Because never really hit the Bay area, except for that outdoor festival. Which happened before the release of the new album . so was expecting a return to the area etc/

  • Pretty bummed there aren't any shows in the South, namely in Atlanta. Looks like I'll be taking off work to drive to Indiana and stay with the grandparents. Still glad I'm seeing PJ at Jazzfest this year!

The thing that bothers me is not where they play or not, but the way the dates are announced.... We can sugarcoat it, but how much do you care about your fans when the tour seems like patchwork?

I would love an Alpine Valley show, but so far one hasn't been announced. I am a reasonable person and currently unemployed, should I pay $200 for tickets in Noblesville and plan to drive 13 hours round trip and spend $100 in gas and $100 in meals and hotel to see them? If I convince my wife which has to happen by monday, then they will announce a show at Summerfest or Lollapalooza or somewhere closer.

It's almost a Guns N' Roses mindset, the band will dictate to us when and where we can see them and they will tell us those details when they feel like it. I thought an album that refreshed my appreciation for Pearl Jam might be followed by complete and inclusive tour announcement. Oh well, there's only 4 more years until the next CD :|

Wow, TresentPense...if your goal was not to sound like an "arrogant NYC resident," you failed miserably. I live in Minneapolis-St. Paul. Definitely not New York or Chicago or LA, but there are 2.5 million people who live in the Twin Cities metro area. I wouldn't call that "in the middle of nowhere."

I don't think that many people are arbitrarily upset that their town didn't get picked. What a lot of us are pissed about is that the same towns within 3 hours of each other continually get picked. I'm absolutely willing to travel and have for my last 4 shows. But it'd be nice if there was more regional variation in the tour shows. No one is expecting a 4-night stop in Omaha. But maybe instead of 2 in Chicago, they play one in Chicago and one somewhere else in the Midwest. Or instead of 4 in Philly, they spread out the shows throughout the eastern seaboard. Its these 3 night stands in one big city that everyone on the east coast is already within driving distance that suck.

I definitely share your sentiment. If I'm able to snag tickets during the pre-sale, I'll be taking a vacation day from work and driving twenty hours round-trip between Alabama and Noblesville (Though I also have to convince my girlfriend by Monday that we can afford this—we're spending the weekend at Jazzfest in New Orleans at the end of April!). I really hope they don't announce a set of shows across the South after I buy nonrefundable tickets to the Indy show. :|
