    I don't condone it (though, we all know sometimes somebody has it coming) but I feel a lot safer in bars knowing people aren't packing heat.

    next time you step out side take a look around and count how many people are wearing a sidearm....
    see anyone other than a police officer ? :lol: not to say thing's don't happen but if they did I would like
    to be able to protect myself and loved ones.
    BTW what about hunter's and sportsmen should they be punished for other people's deed's and the over all public paranoia, just askin.

    I think rifles are a somewhat separate issue. I have no problem with someone owning a hunting rifle assuming they have proper training on how to use it.

    What would you say to a program, much like getting a drivers liscence, where one has to pass a test, maybe go through some training, etc.. to own a gun?

    XLNT IDEA !!! when I was about 12 or 13 I took a gun safety and hunting class and the thing's I learned I still remember and use today although I don't hunt anymore gun safety is huge to me.

    I had to do that to get a gun license in MA. I had to take a 2 day class taught by the state police and had to qualify at the shooting range it was held at. Then I paid my fee ($75 for the class and another $100 for a 6 yr license to carry) and I was all set.
