senority is the way it is ,, when seating is involved

i pay the same price as someone 100 rows back

Most venues only have a few pricing levels anyway for concerts these days. I doubt it would be that different without 10C, considering that all the seats are pretty good. And as far as you joining in '94 and others not, I've got no gripes with the seniority system, but I think the fact that some of us were pretty young in '94 (I was 10) makes for a decent argument for the random seating deal.

understood that people werent old enough to join the 10c in the early days
but again me personally ..i cant do anything about that

the 10c decides senority is the way to go

at least some people have the chance to be close this mini-tour with the random rows thing

the fact is this good senority people want to keep it the same
    the others vice versa

    luckily 10c agrees lol

The way I see it you had the chance in '94 and you've earned it by keeping your membership up since then. If they go back to the old way after this I won't complain....even with my 1998 number I seem to move up a few rows every show...

the band simply changed their views on GA on the floor after the Rokslide...seem to be a little more open to the idea of a GA floor - someone can confirm but I believe there were a few shows in 06' and all the festivals.

europe is 90% GA - copenhagen 2007 was GA!

In my opinion GA is the only way!
Run away my son. See it all. Oh see the world.

Agreed on all counts (though I make it a point to not leave to piss, one advantage of not drinking).

I saw Primus in NYC last time they were around...

Worst GA experience of my life... then again Primus has some pretty crazy/terrible/big/trucker fans... and I literally thought I was gonna get crushed to death the moment they came out... my shirt was ripped my hat was gone... and I was bruised up pretty good... great show but a pain in the ass to just try and enjoy it.

Me and my buddy after the show agreed that we're thankful not having to deal w/ that shit when seeing PJ.
    agreed

When I see Primus I have to stand in the back; I want to watch people perform not get beat up and sweated on. I hope PJ never, ever has a GA show

I agree with you. my number is fair(would be better, but I slacked) and it is what it is. Not our fault if you were six when they started out. That's life, sometimes it isn't fair. :)

Ahh so the reason for No GA shows becomes clear. You're guaranteed at least Third Row for every show. I will only get as close as you if I'm lucky in the random drawing.

I personally think they should have GA shows again as I always have more fun and the crowd tends to be more intense which in turn can cause a more intense performance from the band. I'm a tall guy so having a seat in front and back of me makes it hard to rock out. Anytime I try to jump up and down I end up banging my knee or something else. Since we all stand anyways why do we need a seat. If you have to go take a piss thats your fault. I would never leave a PJ performance.

I think the age argument is week too. If I can find a nice chill spot to move around and vive to at a RAGE show last year I think I could do that for PJ. The only shows that I've been to that had seats on the floor have been the Stones, CSN&Y, and the Who. Does PJ really want to be classified as a Classic Rock old peoples band already???

    gonna chime in again here,

In my opinion being part of a GA show could be put in the same category with getting piss drunk and not remembering anything about the concert... GA makes it hard to focus on what's going on up on the stage and sometimes things like moshing and pushing and shoving and whatever can make you miss something you wouldn't miss normally... GA basically gives people the idea that they can do whatever the fuck they want... not all, but some, and when 1 person starts pushing and shit it's like a chain reaction.

Also, I truly believe that a GA show in the US is much different than a GA show in Europe... I dunno why but I have a feeling people over there aren't deliberately trying to be assholes and hurt people. Of course I've got nothing to back this up other than a gut feeling and my great non-pj experiences with people in Europe.

I've been to numerous hardcore shows in my day (real hardcore not stupid nu metal crap) where everyone moshes and shit, I've gotten kicked in the head, bloody nose all that garbage from shows @ Valentines in Albany, that was fun when I was 15, 16, 17... I'm not much older now at 25, but I just don't want that when I see PJ, I want to enjoy the music and not worry about people being out of control and immature.

General admission shows at large venues suck. No space, no piss breaks, fighting people off the whole time, it is not fun. Just because you can shove your way up front to "ROCK HARD" does not make for a more exciting show. Just more dangerous and more bad vibes. Ignorance is Bliss, I suppose.

Almost every show in Europe is GA for floortickets. Arenashows like Pearl Jam have seats but far away from the stage.
I was at 10 PJ shows in 2006 and 2007 and for most of the shows I had 10C tickets (with early entry). That means line up outside the venue for 10C ticketbooth for hours, after that line up outside the venue to get in 20 minutes early, end up (nearly) front of stage, hours waiting with nothing to drink (can't leave without losing your good spot), when the show starts more people trying to move to the front and alot of pushing etc., no air to breathe, no space to move and then.......nearly pass out !!
So after the first song I was pulled out of the crowd by security (and I was not the only one) or moved backwards, which is nearly impossible from the pit, and enjoyed the rest of the show further back. Only a few venues had a special 10 C section where I found a good spot at the gate in the back of this section.
That was my experience at some of the shows so for the other shows I still lined up outside the venue (meeting and talking to other Jammers), got in early to buy a few drinks and a poster, decided not to go front row and finding myself a good spot further back from the stage enjoying the show with enough space and air to breathe.
I wish there would be more (floor) seating shows next time Pearl Jam tours Europe and that is NOT to sit during the show !! As a 51 year old I still like to rock to the music as I've done all my life.
