Lol, would it be the same formula? 1 great album 1 ok one then one p.o.s?

Revelations has a couple good songs. some cool riffs and solos. Cornell sucked it up as usual though

    LOL Cornell > Vedder

    PJ > RATM

Cornell would be a great fit. BTW pretty sure Audioslave has sold more records in the last 10 years the EV even with the band. And I do believe we are talking about commercial success here.

Thjat, my friend, is where you are wrong. Cornell is the BEST vocalist of our generation better than Ed even( range wise, not for conveying emotion)

And without Ed Jeff would be doing posters for Ed band, Stone would probably be te4aching guitar lessons and working as a studio musician
Jeff and Stone were both in successful bands before Ed. What was Ed doing? Waiting to meet some real musicians.

Noone makes $$$ off records tho, so PJ would be more successful based on tix to live shows

What successful band(s)? MLB?Without Ed noone would even have heard of them. There are a million stories of rock bands that were on the cusp of breaking but never did, so to use that as an argument doesn't fly. Ed actually single handedly wrote one of PJ's most successful, popular and well written songs before he even received "The Tape"

Maybe true but I'm pretty sure Audioslave ahs had more $$$ in ticket sales than EVs solo tour. Like I've been saying EV isn't shit without PJ.

Cornell has great vocal range and his voice is okay. I hate his lyrics though. and I saw him with Audioslave once and he phoned it in so bad that I would have wanted my money back if Morello wasn't so awesome. I mean really, he just stood at the microphone and sang (not conveying emotion as you put it)....and he was unable to hit any of the high notes that he hits on the albums.

Wrong again, many of us owned Apple before PJ ever existed. I only got into PJ because I had MLB and new there was a great band there.

I was wondering why Eddie is doing this solo tour. Is it because of the Into The Wild soundtrack? Maybe I sound too much like a chick here, but do you think the other band members were jealous to be left out of a tour? If anyone knows, please let me know. thanks.

(I might have missed the reason if already mentioned)

No they are not jealous. Mike came out and played at the Berkeley show, and anyway these guys don't get jealous of one another, it's just not there style.

MANY????? like 10,000???? hardly a successful band, considering ITW has surpassed that, c'mon some more of your logic for me to dismantle

I saw him with Soundgarden and he was great but not as emotional as Ed. My point is EV would not be a star without PJ but PJ would be a star without EV. If EV left PJ he would gradually lose his shine but PJ(?) would keep glowing.

ITW only sold because of all the EV ass kissers that follow PJ. That album would never had been made if it weren't for Stone and Jeff.

dude, every so often a there's a douchebag pit memeber who hates on Eddie for all the credit he gets and tries to think of every conceivable way to make it look as if any of the other band members are as important to pearl jam as he is.

Give credit where credit is due, EV IS PJ, let's never forget that, Stone and Jeff can;t move records or sell out shows without Ed, but he can without them? More flawed logic

  • maybe or maybe not

I think he would be a bigger star solo, on the same note he would probably hate it, I think he enjoys his life in Pj. Which is prob why he did his solo stuff on a very low key level. Not many radio friendly songs and the whole intimate scene on a extremely small tour.
I highly respect him for the vison on that. Alot of other singers have a hard time with that. Roth with VH, Cornell obviously, Dickinson in Maiden, these guys transitions back to the band were not real good after becoming just as huge as the band, or in Cornells case his second band.He cant make up his mind on ever. Eddy wasted no time jumping right back in touring some of the bands larger selling fanbases.
Ed really is pretty fucking cool.
Some people have religion I have Pearl Jam.

Funny that you call my logic flawed when you speak of only the present. Some of us were born when the whole Seattle movement started and even without Ed these guys were going to be famous. If anything Ed hurt that with his attitude toward the media. And actually aside from on this board PJ is far from being famous anymore most people don't even know they still are around. Fortunately for EV there is and internet full of douche bags that would suck the sweat from his underwear. I love EV being in PJ but to say EV is PJ is plain moronic.
