Interesting set? Nice choices. Amazing how these curveball openers keep appearing on this last couple of tours. No Riot Act songs again, in fact only 2 songs from between 1998 - 2006!! Roll on 2010 :D

I'm not quite sure what you meant here or if it was just a typo, as I count 7 songs from 1998-2006:

Yield - Faithfull, Given to Fly, Do the Evolution
    Binaural - Grievance
S/T - Severed Hand, Unemployable, Wasted Reprise

Yeah see what you mean. Meant 2 songs inbetween those albums Yield and S/T. Thanks :) Although I thought it actually made perfect sense seeing as Binaural, Riot Act were released between those years. Hold On was during this period too BTW!

  • Again i will say as a lifelong fan....wow what a night....this tour seems to be blowing the band away. I mean when did they last play a sold out tour to at least 30,000 tickets per night. Tonight was special. they interacted and joked so much with each other, we could just feel the vibe. Unreal. Even the constants (small town and even flow) because they havent been played on these shores in 11 years, were so special. I think sometimes you have to remember the little man. Ive been lucky enough to see this band over the last 12 years in many cities but tonight there were thousands of people who havent had the chance over the last 11 years. a VERY VERY special night.

Very true but actually released in the same period I mentioned. EV wrote Betterman in his bedroom long before PJ, was played live on the V's tour but is a Vitalogy song really if were going to quibble

  • All I can say is WOW, such a fantastic performance, really great set list, all really good songs just rolled on one after another. Hold On was a nice surprise, and closing with ritfw AND yellow ledbetter was also a treat, I'm not if they do that very often.

Thanks Eddie, Stone, Jeff, Matt and Mike, and Boom, for coming to Auckland, it's been a long wait but soooo worth it. I'm still smiling today.

  • Magnificent return to NZ for the boys, 11 years waiting and what a night! The crowd was unbelievable with two reviews saying 32,000-45,000! Ben Harper set had to be the best of the tour so far with three oldies thrown in.

Daughter was a surprise and a bloody good one. Ed and the boys were on fire with Ed saying all the right things including dedicating Faithful to all the Kiwis. Ed took Doom Pony's Black banner up on stage. The set list was all over the show but it worked brilliantly.

Not sure I've heard a crowd singing so much of Betterman on any boots, that was magic. Ed seemed to drop a song from the final encore after The Fixer but seemed more a momentum thing than because the lights were on as reviews suggest, they always turn the lights on for RITFW & YLB.

Christchurch next , hopefully and epic set to end the tour!!

Amazing concert, this only being my 4th concert, I was on the barrier in front of Mike the whole time :D

One of the guitar tech's was tall guy in a red shirt with tattoo's mon his legs ? Anyone tell me who this was ???

As I was really keen to get a guitar pick, I kept asking him but he pretended did not to hear me, saw him later after concert handling some lady 15 of Mike's guitar picks, kinda bummed me out big time as I only wanted one :x

Oh well, can't win them all

  • What a night. Head's a bit hazy due to post concert drinks... but my aching ribs tell me I had fun!

Sweet setlist and as someone said it flowed perfectly. Set started while it was still light which was weird and over on Stone's side it was a little ..umm.. uncomfortable let's say for the first 5 or so songs :? but after that the night was ours to enjoy.

Grievance, Hail Hail and Just Breathe were highlights for me aswell as getting to hear Hold On. Even Betterman made sense with a crowd that size  yay for doompony even without a nod from Ed

    Roll on Christchurch...and Once :D
