Well done to Ed for pulling through. Stoked I got to hear Dissident and Down.
The thing that really rubbed me up the wrong way was the drunken dick heads that were that were rpughing up on everyone, male or female. I was right in front of Ed about 4 people from the front and during Liam Finn and Ben Harper is was the 10C feel that we are all used to; everyone keeping an eye on each other, sharing water, respecting space ect.
Then the drunken yobbo's came in roughing everyone up and not sharing the water which was being distributed by security.
I wish there was a 10C only section, because we all go there for the music and to see our favourite band.
It didn't turn my night into bad night, but just something I could have done without; being elbowed in the side having people trying to crowd surf by jumping over my shoulders and surging forward squashing everyone on the barrier. I do understand that if we want to be up the front that this is what we should expect..... Just saying it would have been nice to have a 10C section.
Opera house/Metro/Enmore gig for 10C members would have been awesome. Maybe Ed and the boys will make up for it next year with a 'one off'.... If they felt they needed to...0 -
This was my first PJ gig and it blew my mind! I think they did an amazing job esp. Eddie! Highlights for me included Given To Fly, Corduroy and Porch!
I thought the set list was great and my only other wish was that they played Jeremy as this is a fav of mine.
I got there at midday and swear that at the end of the day i was 5 kilos lighter due to the heat!
I really wish i had been able to go to earlier concerts but am glad my first was a great night.
Having withdrawal now, please don't make me wait too long until my next high!I know someday you'll have a beautiful life, I know you'll be a star

Does anyone know the piano piece of music being used to start each concert??
Sounds 'Love Reign O'er Me'-ish, but I could be way off. Anyway, i love it..

Never thought Id do this but I left the concert before they had even finished (start of RITFW).
When I first walked out to get a beer and go to the dunny, I asked 6 security guards where to ge and they all pointed me in different (and incorrect directions). I walked for ages!!!! No beer either on the field and when you left you had to walk all the way thru the Backspacer field All other cities have had HEAPS of different access points
I got to hear Whipping and Down so was stoked with that
BUT out of all the 4 concerts Ive been to so far that ranked a distant 4th. Disappointing in my home town…..the organizers didn’t do a good job in my opinion
This was the weakest of all the PJ shows I've seen, but that was understandable given Ed's voice.
I told someone at work today that Pearl Jam on a bad night is still better than most bands on a good night. My Pearl Jam concert footage:http://youtube.com/profile_videos?user=twojawas&search_query=pearl+jam&search=Search

having the melbourne show from friday to compare it to, i think sydney wasn't as good. it's a shame EV was sick for the concert...but what a trooper!!!! he pulled out what he could and performed really well all things considered. it may also be that for melbourne i was in the fixer section about 15 metres from the stage ;-)
i didn't find the sound too bad, i was at the back left of the field seated. glad they had the speaker stacks in the middle otherwise sound would have sucked. was pissed off that the venue managers turned on the stadium lights halfway through the second last song!! i understand they have a curfew but...
was cool to see stone sing! throw your arms with liam finn was great as was red mosquito and indifference with ben harper...

Wow what a night!! I saw the guys in Adelaide and Melbourne but Sydney was definitely the highlight!
In Adelaide i was right down the front on Mikes side and in Melb i was at the back of front T barrier (if that makes sense)... in Sydney i was at the very back of the T barrier just in the front of the Audio/Lighting tent.
Despite what some might think as a premature ending I thought the setlist was pretty fkn amazing! Crazy Mary, Untitled and Dissent.. oh i forgot Light Years! The setlist was great! I was stoked with the show and i could understand when they ripped in Rockin in the free world and the lights came up that this was probably the end, especially with Ed having caught a cold. So here i was at the end of my 3 show tour, rockin out to RITFW and thinking to myself how sweet it would be if Ed came up the runway because i'll have a great view, being right on the barrier. In Melb when he came up but i was too busy trying to take a picture and kinda missed the whole thing so i told myself if he comes up again, no camera, just enjoy the moment!
So... as Mike broke into his solo, Ed jumped down and started making his way along the runway down front. I couldn't see shit at this point, then everyone began surging forward as he came running up... all the way back to where i was with a tambourine in hand. He went right past me to the opposite side and his security guy stepped up to my barrier to block the fans from going too crazy and jumping the fence. And then in most surreal moment of my life Ed came back around the tent with the tambourine in hand... saw me... and came straight up and handed it to me. I could not fkn believe it! he took off back down to the stage and left me jumping up and down clutching my new instrument and rockin out to RITFW.
(i know he threw a few out) but damn... i got the one down the back! I'm still so fkn stoked! It was the perfect finale to my shows! I'll never forget the look from Ed when he saw he me... its like he saw me and said... i remember him from Adelaide down the front.... maybe not... whatever... I felt the connection! lol. i'm so thankful to Pearl Jam for 3 sensational shows! I met some great people along the way... Joel, Megan, Rachel and Frank!
See you in the 10C lines next tour!
Get well ED!!Post edited by Timmay on0 -

I have to agree with those who feel that any PJ show is awesome, they all have their highs and lows.
Despite the heat and Eddie's illness all the guys put on an amazimg show. Mike was so energetic, Stone performed Mankind beautifully and most of all they just had fun.
Would love to write more, but most of it has been said already.
Thanks to Pearl Jam for another awesome gig. What seperates PJ from other bands is the love you feel from them as a fan. They're one of the few bands out there who truly appreciate their supporters. Proof of that is bringing Ben Harper with Relentless 7 and Liam Finn along for the ride, I feel lucky to have seen so much talent not only playing great music, but performing with vigour and having a great time on stage.

Well...... lined up from 7.30am in the heat but when PJ walked out on stage and I was in front of Mike everything about the 40 degree plus day was forgotten.I had the time of my life. The night was great. And to Ed for doing the best he could do being sick and all I take my hat off to him.
My highlights were Given to Fly ,Dissident,Garden,Do the Evoloution,Light years and Porch.
And to all the people we meet in the 10c line you guys just made the experience even better. A huge shout out to Matt from Tassie ,Katie & Ryan from Brisbane, the guys from Detroit,Kayla and Luke and Ben and the central coast boys. Thanks guys for making a great day/night a better one with your company.
And thanks PJ for everything. You made me smile, you made me cry, you made me sream at the top of my lungs, you made me sweat, you made me happy something that I needed after a rough few months.

What's awesome is reading all these fanviews and Sydney does not have to have a best of setlist to go off. If only they got to finish what they had planned, it would of shut those fuckers up who are saying they didn't play any of their hits.
If they played (what was on the setlist) Betterman, 1/2 full, wasted reprise, footsteps Daughter, Alive and Yellow Ledbetter, this concert would of been one for the ages.
As it was, Fucking incredible as is.

What an awesome concert!!
Thank you so much to Eddie for pushing thru the pain - he really was unwell.
This was my first concert as a 10C fan and how awesome it was to be so so close.
Pearl Jam inspired me and helped me every step of the way thru my battle with breast cancer 3 years ago.
They played my all time favourite Given to Fly and it felt liike they were playing it just for me!!
 I am very embarrassed to admit but the heat finally got to me after lining up from 3pm and the bouncers very nicely helped me out of the crowd ... I was so embarrassed as I walked infront of the stage but I honestly felt like I was gonna faint.
The bouncers did an amazing job making sure everyone had water and was ok.
Liam Finn and Ben Harper and the Relentless 7 were fantastic - what an extra treat to witness such talent.
Thank you to all my fellow Pearl Jam devotees for helping to make such a fantastic night.
I am now feeling the aftershow blues :(
Get better Eddie and thanks to all the band for an amazing night YOU GUYS LIGHT UP MY LIFE0
