Yes, I am saying I do not like the poster.

Far as the concert/set list goes, any PJ concert is a good one IMO and wish I had been there!

The gig was awesome, I had a blast. Sometimes it's better not to see the set list I think, especially when you know it was cut short. I had a fucking great time, no doubts about that. Best band across all the lands!

Wow. That setlist would have been awesome. I loved it anyway, never had seen Untitled/MFC and Light Years. Shame about Footsteps though. Get Well Eddie.

Firstly it was HOT HOT HOT!!! Eddie got the shorts out. Didn't bother Ben Harper though, jeans and a long sleeve flannelette shirt
Under pressure and Never Tear Us Apart were awesome(Heard a guy say he heard Never Tear Us Apart being soundcheck and was saying that it was the anniversary Micheal Hutchecence death).
Eddie Sounded fine to me. They was no doubt that he was sick. At one point he came to the right on stage where we were a coughed up a lung but then jumped straight back into it. Had an awesome night. Joni getting a happy birthday sung to her and the dedication to Sebastian was very cool.
I never get tired of Untitled/MFC. Unthought Known was awesome live.
Ed gave it his all and the rest of the band were going off and that was good enough for me. Now bring NZ. Have fun in Brisvegas people :D
I can't go the library anymore, everyone STINKS!!

You must have been near me. I saw that too. He definitely was a trooper to keep going after that.

Garden... Very nice. The only song fron ten that I am yet to see them perform.

No amongst the waves though... an unexpected highlight of the other shows so far.

How was the size of the venue and how was the crowd compared to melbourne?

Let's get one thing straight first. Ed was very sick, but that did not dampen his performance from my P.O.V. Yes his voice wasn't the best, but he was in a good energetic mood.

I had some banshee Ben Harper supporter behind me who used me as a pole. I turned around saw she was a good sort, so I didn't mind. She gave me a massage and a kiss too. Then she left cause she called us ''boring Pearl Jam C**ts" She was a Kiwi for the record. Then she said she want ed to 'punch pearl jam in the face'

I was prob 4 rows back on Mike's side. During Corduroy, Mike was looking straight at me, I was thinkin is he looking at me?
He then mouthed 'Are you alright?" I had my mouth wide open, thinking is he talking to me? and he said again "are you alright?" I don't know how I must of been looking in this 40 degree weather watching my favourite band in the whole world, mouth still wide open, and he again mouthed 'Are you alright?" By this 3rd time I definitely knew he was talking to me, so I gave him thumbs up and he gave a nod and continued to play. But he was watching out for everyone, and visibly distressed during a solo when some girl had passed out and was been passed through the crowd.

Ed and Ben 'argued' over what part of indifference they were going to sing.
The band just seemed so tight. Whipping, Down, Garden untitled/MFC, Mankind, Crazy Mary, Porch, Red Mosquito, SOLAT, the list goes on.

Ed's voice was gone, but he gave it his all. An awesome show. I caught the dual between Mike an Boom in Crazy Mary on video, it goes off.

Mike was on his game tonight. He ripped that guitar up. Just like me on guitar hero :D .

I wasnt at Perth, Adelaide or Melbourne. But if any show that tops that, would of had to have been out of this world.

Someone earlier said there is nothing special about this setlist. Did you see the same one I was at. Man o man, they just pulled out so much I didn't expect.

I must say though, I like the poster, but Adelaide's was better.

Don't let the talk of Ed's illness take away from what a great show this was. The crowd was fuckin sick apart from drongos moshing a bit away from me. Knocking poor ladies all over the place.

My god, how good was this show - sick eddie or not they absolutely put out a cranking performance. I was about 10 metres back from the stage sweating my guts out and loved every second of it, screaming and clapping and even shed a bit of a tear at the end. Could do it every night. The security guards were amazing giving out water. I got a close glimpse of eddie when he went for a wander during RITFW. I thought the set list was great- alot of rare old stuff but was a little dissapointed not hearing Daughter with a nice tag on it or Betterman with help from the crowd but all in all such an amazing band, such an amazing front man and Liam and Ben were tops as well. Mike McCreadie is a guitar hero and how fit is he lookin at the moment!! the slow start to porch was magnificent !

I am now in a state of depression that it is over - come back soon boys - we love you and get better soon Eddie !

  • Saw them play in Saskatoon a few years ago. That was an amazing show. Last night's show at SFS was 'OK'. Not a fan of outdoor shows, they lack the intimacy of indoor arenas. Couldn't they have done a few nights at Acer? Not the set list that I was hoping for either, but it was nice to hear the B-side to Canada's national anthem when they closed with Rockin In The Free World.
  • Thanks for the poster pics.

Who is the artist on this one???
My understanding is this is Ben Brown, the same artist who did the Perth Clockwork Orange poster.
  • Wow, sounds like everyone had a great time even with the heat. It's great that security was making sure everyone got water. Anyone got any video's of the show?
I hope Eddie gets well soon :(

I don't understand how people can compare PJ sets. Everyone is unique and special in some way, and impossible to compare. Getting Breakerfall, Pilate, Save You, Love Reign, I Am Mine, Garden in Perth or Release, Brain of J, Faithfull, I Got ID, Blood, Smile at Adelaide or Oceans, Green Disease, Present Tense, Black, Baba at Melbourne or Mankind, Crazy Mary, RITFW, Down, Untitled/MFC at Sydney. They are not comparable, they were each awesome in their own rights. Although I understand how pumped you feel after the show and if you only go to one of them it will feel like the best in the world!

It was WAY too hot in Sydney for my liking but still an awesome show. I was 2nd from the middle barrier stones side and don't know how people were surviving in the middle of the mosh pit. The 2nd encore felt really short and it was disappointing to find out so many songs got cut, but was very happy with the Crazy Mary / RITFW ending for a change over Alive/Ledbetter as we've seen at the other shows. Overall it was still a decently long set list and Adelaide/Perth both finished about 10.30pm from what I remember so it wasn't really much shorter than them.

Bring on Brisbane and am now wishing I got NZ tickets as well. Still can't complain it has been a great tour so far.

That part about Mile asking if you were alright- awesome!!! He seems so thoughtful. :)

The setlist was great!! I've been dying to see Crazy Mary for ages and Untitled/MFC was totally out of the blue. Light Years almost made me cry. And Mankind?!?!?! Go Stone!
I was happy for what we got considering the circumstances. He still sounded pretty good anyway.
I made a sign for Matt (as always) but he didn't come to the front at the end like Syd 3/06. I was hoping he'd see it.
I wish I were going to more shows. Let the Post Pearl Jam Depression begin.

So this would be rubbing it in a little hey? Sorry man, I was pretty lucky last night : )

Maybe karma for Friday night when some prick roughed up my Wife when she bent down to pick up one of Jeff's picks in Melbourne?

I'm pretty grateful, I can tell you know.

  • eastie - man you lucky bastard, you got the setlist, 3 picks and sweatbands!!!???

I have to say I've been to better PJ concerts, however I have to give major props to Ed for sticking it out and giving it his all.

After seeing what the setlist could_have_been I am indeed a little dissappointed but these things happen, was still a good show.

Anyone Remember those people who tried to push in the 10c line. We had been lining up for hours, then these 2 or 3 Americans, (Not bad mouthing, just putting this out to jog people's mind) tried to push in right up the front, and were turned away. She then gave everyone the finger, and dropped her phone in the one motion. Hilarious.

Haha, yeah! I was right there. It was an American girl on her own who had just bought a 10c ticket off a guy I met in line and thought that she could just jump in next to him at 4:10 after we'd all been waiting for 4 hours
