I'm not down with the idea of a re-mix idea, but what is turning me off to KoL is the fact that they play the same setlist every show. I saw them in Jan and May, and it was way too similar. I have tix to see them in September, and if its the same shit again, I'm done seeing them live.

I agree!! I saw all four shows of theres this year and they were all the same....Let's see what they bring at ACL....
Conversations getting dull
There's a constant ringing in my ears
Sense of humor's void and numb
And I'm bored to tears.......

Who cares....

Let the guys rock in their own ways. 8-)
• yeah, I think alot of you are music snobs for looking down on Kings of Leon here. let them be creative! Don't jugde them. haven't you noticed that all bands usually do some kind of 360 degrees during their career. They'll eventually go back to their roots.

the fact that there is even an audience for these remixes pretty much sums up the state of Kings of Leon at this moment
You mean the audience that listens to shitty pop radio stations now that are getting exposed to a great band with a great back catalog of albums to turn them on to real rock and roll? Yeah. That sucks.
i know what you're saying but these people that are exposed while listening to shitty radio won't be changed. i live right by the university here. when kol played every idiot i know that went also attended brittney spears. they dont are about their catalog...just that it's cool to like kol

btw..every kol song on the radio sounds the same. i suck at guitar and can figure out their songs by ear. guess im not a fan :D

to each their own. it's their music. i say let them do whatever they want with their music. i'm a fan of theirs & have been for quite awhile. i'll probably listen to couple of the remixes & if i don't like what i hear, i won't buy the record. if i do like it, i'll buy it. simple as that.
I LOVE MUSIC.

They are terrible anyway, so hopefully this will be the end of them so we don't have to endure that god awful lead singer any longer...

I have pics of KOL's drummer (from the second row at VA Beach) if they want to put his face on a "lunch box"....
do they still do that? When I was little in the 1960's, my metal lunch box had Flipper on it, then gradually in the seventies I think you could get the Partridge Family on there.

i love KOL. the new record took a while to grow on me, but i like it. not nearly as much as 'because of the times,' & 'aha shake...', or even their first album.
i too think the remix album is just a bad idea in general and an overall waste of time. so what if jason timbercreek is a big fan??? who cares. let him record his own song-by-song remake of the album.
i won't go as far as accuse them of selling out. i just think that they should get right back in the studio and record an album that's nothing at all like 'only by the night.' a remix album only delays an album of new material even further.
i'm rambling. so what.

lol sorry I just don't get this band. They are one of those bands that I feel like I should be into because everyone I know loves them, but I just can't get by that lead singer's dying cat voice

When I first began listening to KOL upon the release of their first album I thought: "Huh, well it's only a matter of time until these guys become exploited...but hell, it won't be for a while."

I was wrong.
