Pretentious douchebags, get over yourselves. That was awesome. And no fadeout was great.0

My 2 first impressions:
1. I felt like I should have had 3D glasses where the band in front was coming right out to me where the layering in the back would just look really far back.
2. This looked like something that Target would want for a commercial - kind of reminded of something like U2 would do to promote an album.0 -
Lets all cool down. Different strokes for different folks. What is important is how a dude on IE can view this on a firewalled work machine0

That was pretty corny but the song sounded alot better than the studio version.5/28/06, 6/27/08, 10/28/09, 5/18/10, 5/21/10

Wasn't that the studio version with crowd noise added in plus no fade?over bends wrote:Well, the video was cheesy but the song sounded GREAT! Like much better than the studio version for two main reasons... 1) mike was doing all the piano parts and fills with the guitar and it sounded great and 2) NO FADE OUT! So yeah, I thought it sounded great, but the video was very cheesy.
And I agree - no fadeout is WAY better.0 -
it wasn't my favorite video of theirs, but it wasn't terrible either. the sound was great & the no fade out made it worth it. now if the room would just stop spinning.... 8-)I LOVE MUSIC.

i wanna see some of the raw footage that went into that... without the silly target-riffic layering effects... i thought the quality and some of the shots were actually pretty good... maybe the other songs they played at that shoot will make it onto the CC documentary out next year0

I don't think so. From what I heard a few parts were different, a little slower, etc, and there was definitely no piano if I could hear right.Yield!

The crowd noise is distracting and the video doesn't 'feel' right. The 'no-fade' is better though.

Well that's sure not true. Though that I do completely hate The Fixer...and dislike the accompanying video, I can't think of any other Pearl Jam related thing that I've hated since the commercial release of Last Kiss to radio. Well, the quality of the 2008 bootlegs had me annoyed too but that's it. So what are you talking about?2000: Camden 1, 2003: Philly, State College, Camden 1, MSG 2, Hershey, 2004: Reading, 2005: Philly, 2006: Camden 1, 2, East Rutherford 1, 2007: Lollapalooza, 2008: Camden 1, Washington D.C., MSG 1, 2, 2009: Philly 1, 2, 3, 4, 2010: Bristol, MSG 2, 2011: PJ20 1, 2, 2012: Made In America, 2013: Brooklyn 2, Philly 2, 2014: Denver, 2015: Global Citizen Festival, 2016: Philly 2, Fenway 1, 2018: Fenway 1, 2, 2021: Sea. Having the Even Flow video stream on that site right afterwards, what ever happened to the "turn the lights off, this isn't a tv studio, it's a rock concert"...? I found it really funny. It's pretty much the same type of video yet completely different.Yield!

Maybe a 3D version of this will be included for Target CD-buyers! :shock:drsluggo wrote:My 2 first impressions:

It does look unusual - not quite like a normally produced video.'05 - TO, '06 - TO 1, '08 - NYC 1 & 2, '09 - TO, Chi 1 & 2, '10 - Buffalo, NYC 1 & 2, '11 - TO 1 & 2, Hamilton, '13 - Buffalo, Brooklyn 1 & 2, '15 - Global Citizen, '16 - TO 1 & 2, Chi 2

I love that version of the song. Sounds really good.
Crowd noise was awkward. Those screens behind them looked really cheesy and out of place. You have to think that if they saw this in 1992 they would have cringed. I will say it beats the Life Wasted video but not by much. At least the song sounded badass.
Thanks for those proxy tips! Worked like a charm.0 -
thanks to the poster with the proxy info!!
Someone said its like a U2 advert.... I was an extra in a U2 advert....simulating a gig similar to this. i can say that these guys finished it off and made it look great. it came out far better than the U2 one did (they used 150 people in tons of combinations to simulate a crowd of thousands- it just looks digital and shite), whereas here it looks like a hundred or two hundred people got to watch PJ perform in a small place, get some cash for it, and they look like theyre enjoying it...sure, theyre not crushed against the barriers or sweating, but that shoot probably took a whole day, its never gona be 100% realistic.
Thats exactly how it sounded last week, good performance.
Its more interesting than the Chop Suey videos, but Good Grief, im actually dizzy after watching it.0
