Wasn't too impressed. I didn't like how the video images were layered. It looked like they were playing in front of a green screen on some of those shots (even though they weren't). Very cheesy looking to me. Maybe if just a few shots are used during the Target commercial it won't be so bad.

WOW that thing REEKS of phoniness....

Yeah, they should have rented out an old oil tanker and rocked it out.

    Get off it, dude.
lol why must you bring muse up in every argument with me?
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nj65al5Faq8

at least muse doesn't hire crowds and add crowd noise to the background on an audio track

    :D

I just wanted to point out a bit of an oversite. Look, all music videos (and by all I mean 99.5%) are phony. They put bands in phony situations and have stupid things going on...music videos suck. They are trying to sell a few more records and I don't think it should be an indictment on their character. Not that you necessarily were doing that with your post.

awesome. makes me like the song even more.

some people just need to get over the whole "phony" thing. music videos ARE phony. Do u think Jeremy really shot himself in the head during that shoot?

We PJ fans are not used to seeing the band like this and it's unsettling for some.

My advice ... let go of the self-righteous attitude and enjoy a fun video for a good song.

That is a good point that should be underscored. They didn't go to a local mall or have a talent search for extras.

Phony or not, this recording of the song sounds a lot better than the single version. It rocks!

I don't think I've ever liked any music video... except for Evolution, I loved the animation.
I do agree that real good rock bands always look a little awkward in these productions.
still love the song though. :)

That's why Pearl Jam stopped making videos unless they had an idea for a concept or "piece of art" like Do the Evolution or Life Wasted.

I think you're the one being "self-righteous" here. Some of us think it's a bad video for a bad song...which we're entitled to think.

And you comparison to the Jeremy video makes no sense in your defense of the alleged "phoniness" of The Fixer video. The Jeremy video was a story...The Fixer video is five guys playing a pop song in front of fans who are told to jump up and down when the camera is on them.

Well, the video was cheesy but the song sounded GREAT! Like much better than the studio version for two main reasons... 1) mike was doing all the piano parts and fills with the guitar and it sounded great and 2) NO FADE OUT! So yeah, I thought it sounded great, but the video was very cheesy.
