Pearl Jam and the Ten Club announce Bootleg program for 2009
Pearl Jam's official website (http://www.pearljam.com) will be the exclusive distributor for live bootleg recordings from their upcoming tour in support of their 9th studio album "Backspacer".
Shows will be available in three formats- MP3, flac and Burn-on-Demand Compact Discs.
Shows will be mixed and mastered and available within weeks of the show date.
not to sound negative on what is a great (and ongoing) gift from the band..
I just hope the 2009 mixing is vastly improved from the 2008 bootlegs..
I realize there were a myriad of threads about this in the past and the vast majority of opinion was that the 2008 bootlegs (and 2005) were at the bottom of the pile for sound clarity..
I am a firm believer that the band monitors the chat here...
Best,
Scotty

Trying to be positive about the Euro boots, I think in 07 they weren't organised enough to get things up and running, as I remember it, it was in between them ditching Basecamp and before they sorted the Kufala thing - so am really hoping this time that they've no excuse not to include the Euro boots. (its just a shame they didn't revisit 07 when they sorted out the Kufala deal, they probably think for a few Euro shows the demand isn't there maybe?).
That being said, I have a bad feeling about SBE, they didn't do a boot for the Astoria, did they? :(
Anyway, I'm just gonna try and think positive and will it to happen
Well, then FLAC for me and I can burn my own cd's!! Thanks!
I forget the brand name, but the cd-rs they use are professional quality (you can't go buy them at Target). Plus the tops are printed on AND you get a nice cardboard sleeve. Also the 2008 boots are guaranteed for life, so if the cd-r fails, they'll replace it for you. Not bad for an extra $2 per show over FLAC in my opinion (assuming pricing will be the same as last year). Plus all of them lined up on the shelf next to the 2008, 2003, and 2000 boots will look way better than anything I could do myself.
Seriously, what more can this band offer? Thanks PJ!
A better service to 10C in Europe, and respond to queries and emails by fans!! it might be all good for you guys, but sometimes i think we get treated like piss.

hopefully the sound is more 2003 than 2008....I can't even listen to the 2008 boots in the car the bass is so loud on them. They rattle the whole car and drown out the vocals. I thought 2003 and 2006 were the best, and 2000 and 2005 were good too but the sound quality wasn't as good at 03 and 06. 2008 just sounded like they needed mixed better because they were so loud
So from the previous chatter, I'm assuming they don't usually boot the festival shows? Bummer, guess I'll have to employ moderation for day 1 of OLF!
Bonnaroo was made into a boot. I think it depends on the festival and what their restrictions are. I'm pretty sure ACL won't have a boot since they use footage for television and hopefully a DVD. Like how Storytellers was never an official bootleg.
dont forget europe,,as 2007 and i want them to be in my order history now!!!all of them of course

So we're still in the dark if last night's show will be sold? That's too good of a setlist to have just some audience recording. (no I don't have the audience recording yet)

I don't think there's any way we'll get a Shepherd's Bush bootleg. They didn't put The Astoria or The Vic out and I think this will be a similar show to those two, one for the you-had-to-be-there file!

Oh, well that may just be worth it then. I haven't bought an official bootleg since Basecamp did them in 2006.
Where's the buy button for Calgary '09? Pretty please!!!

Me too!
My guess would be due to the length of the tour (so far), this will be like 2000 and 2003 with no box. Just sit them on the shelf and enjoy them.
