I don't know if this has already been posted but I'm not reading the entire thread. I've noticed there will be a CD edition of Backspacer which will allow you to download 2 live shows of your choice.

Cool, where did you see that & any idea how much it will be?

I don't think that the 2 live shows that are gonna come with Backspacer are going to have anything to do with the Bootlegs.

Where did you guys see the Info about an edition with two downloadable shows?

I know there's a place in the UK offer 3 downloadable tracks from the O2 gig when you pre order the CD of Backspacer.

Sorry Everyone. I've got my facts straight now.
EIL.com are selling the CD, obviously as a pre-order.
I've also looked at other threads to find out Target are selling a similar version in the US.
It will actually be 2 shows of 11 available from the back catalogue, and not the live dates in Europe so far.
Apologies for getting your hopes up.

This has already been discussed at length on here over the last month or so.

    Thanks for pointing that out.
I had obviously missed it as I don't read everything on here, and neither do other people hence my post.

I'm pretty certain that the current gigs played won't be released on bootlegs. The gigs that kick off the 'Backspacer Tour' will be the ones that we can buy. The August gigs won't be released as they aren't part of the Backspacer Tour. I love this band but it grates me that the 2007 Europe tour never got released and if these gigs don't get released I'll be even more hacked off. Manchester was amazing the other night but I've already resigned myself to only being able to get an audience boot like I had to for Wembley 07 :(

Wouldn't be happy about that at all. Would be very dissappointed given the non release of the 2007 European tour dates (as you said), the non release of this month's and the prospect of PJ not returning to Europe for a while.

Could the current gigs not be released to test the new bootleg program before the Backspacer dates?

I think many fans will be disappointed if the Euro concerts don't get released. Can't see a reason why not to.

[Edit: Just spotted this on facebook:

For fans in the UK Townsend Records are offering 3 tracks from the London, O2 show (18.08.09) for free for fans that pre-order the album – http://www.townsend-records.co.uk

So, they've obviously recorded it, surely there'll be a release? By the way, what do we get who've pre-preordered via the Goods section?]

The only reason they won't put the 5 European shows on bootleg could be they will come back and play Europe again but then a real roundtrip in Europe.

Italy, Spain, Greece, Scandinavia, Eastern Europe, France for example.
They didn't visit it this time and they are touring for Backspacer so they might return. :D

And offcourse visit the UK, Germany and the Netherlands again. 8-)

(although they will be very tired at that point and the show won't be as energenic as the first few shows where)

I think they will release the European shows, with the possible exception of SBE, since they don't usually release those small club shows.

If they wern't planning on releasing the European shows, then why announce the Bootleg program right before the tour kicked off?? They would have waited on making the bootleg announcement if they wern't going to release them.

They said they will be available within '"weeks" of the shows, so we probably just have to be patient. They're probably just waiting until after Backspacer is released because the shows contain Backspacer songs.

Lets hope so and keep our fingers crossed!

I have just had the mailing list email from the Ten Club that had the details of the pre order from Townsend Records, this is where you get the 3 tracks from the o2 gig when you pre-order Backspacer from them.

Yeah let's hope so for sure. I'm desperate for a souveneir from the O2 since we missed out in '07.

I'm sure we just have to be patient. There was no reason to announce the bootleg program prior to the European Tour if they were not planning on releasing them. :)

Thanks for the info from Townsend records... I'm off to check my inbox!!

Yeah i think it has been a week since the Berlin & Rotterdam shows. So they should be up to download. Can't wait to hear the London show. Just wished the bootleg sound was as good as Live on 2 Legs, it has been 3 years since i have had a bootleg so maybe.

I could see delaying the release of the AUgust shows until Backspacer is out if necessary but not sure why any regular PJ shows as opposed to festival shows would not be released. That would seem silly to me. With the big arena, high 10c turnout in Chicago and positive reviews I'd think it would be a decent seller.

With the nice video on the big screens in Chicago a 10c dvd release would be sweet. Someday maybe we will get dvds of a tour.

Boots for the shows just gone aren't gonna happen.

Read the official release for the boots for 2009 - quite clearly says boots will be released for the upcoming gigs that are in support of Backspacer. The August gigs are not part of the Backspacer tour, they are officially classed as the 2009 European/North American Tour.

The upcoming bootleg programme is for the Backspacer Tour only - which kicks off 21st Sep. Expect boots to be available from last week of Sep/1st week of Oct.

Called the TenClub and asked if the August shows would be released as boots. He said he wasn't sure, but he thought so.

Wish it was a little more definitive than that. Guess we'll just have to be patient.

There definitely is boots for the August shows - I have 2 already - but I don't think we'll be getting official boots. The 2007 Europe tour never got officially released and unfortunately I'm expecting the same to happen with the August shows. If the August shows were getting released I think we woud have been told by now.
