Scott36 wrote:Is there any chance this rate will get even cheaper a couple days before the shows? I live in Virginia, and I'd really like to come out for these shows, but I can't make plans very far in advance right now. I'm a recent college grad looking to start a job in the near future; hence, I'm not sure if I'll be able to get away (not to mention the fact that I'd have to be very cost conscious). If I can get away and make it happen, I was thinking I'd just Priceline a flight and the hotel at the last minute. One important question though: is the public transportation sufficient to get me from the airport to the hotel and from the hotel to the shows?
There is a chance that this could get a little cheaper, but I would say that $50 is the absolute rock bottom that this deal will get. There is much more risk the other way IMO. Once the block of rooms that the Hyatt has sold Priceline are gone, who knows what the next cheapest hotel will be in this star class in Chicago. If I had to bet on it, I would say that you'll probably get this deal right up to the week before the shows. But I wouldn't risk it. This deal is too good to risk losing it.1996: Toronto 1998: Barrie 2000: Saratoga Springs 2003: Buffalo, Toronto 2005: Kitchener, London, Hamilton, Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto 2006: Toronto x2, Cleveland, Detroit, Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, Gorge #1 2007: London, Dusseldorf, Vic, Lolla 2008: WPB, Tampa, DC, MSG x2, Hartford, Boston x2, Beacon 2009: Toronto, Chicago x2, Seattle x2, LA #3&4, San Diego, Philly x4 2010: Cleveland, Buffalo, Hartford 2011: Montreal, Toronto x2, Hamilton 2012: Missoula 2013: London, Wrigley, Pittsburgh, Buffalo, Hartford, Dallas, OKC0 -
Got three nights for $65 per night through Priceline. The $60 one wouldn't go through. Oh well, still a damn good price. Be there Sat., Sun., and Mon. Just used priceline. They wouldn't accept a $57 or $60 bid for Sun/Mon night.
So I raised my bid to $65 and ended up getting the Palmer House instead of the Hyatt.
Oh well, it sucks not to be staying at the same place with all the other PJ fans but the
Palmer House does look like a killer hotel. Anyone stay there before?4/22/92 St. Petersburg, 8/23/92 Orlando, 3/29/94 St. Petersburg, 10/7/96 Ft. I got three nights 22, 23, 24. I bid $60.00 and was told if I wanted to bid $17.00 more I could do it without waiting for the 24 hours. So I did and got the Hyatt Regency. $77.00.
The last time we were in Chicago (in 2006 for PJ concerts) we got it for $60.00 per night. We made the mistake of driving and parking there was outrageous. So keep that in mind if you plan on driving. I think we are going to drive up from Southern Illinois to Champagne or some other place on the Amtrak line and then take the train into Chicago. The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way it treats its animals. Just got 4 nights (Fri - Tues) at Hyatt for $80 via Priceline. Would have loved to get it at $60, but I guess that's what I get for procrastinating. Nonetheless, look forward to seeing everyone in Chicago!1994: Pensacola, Memphis

Just put in a bid on Priceline today for $70 thinking maybe the Hyatt yet, but got the Palmer House. We're staying Sun and Mon night. Only a month away!!!"In certain trying circumstances...profanity furnishes a relief denied even to prayer." - Mark Twain0
