I don't know how people can say it sounds bland, to me it seems like it's pretty damn fun, and I think Eddie sounds livelier than he has in a while.

    And that's just 30 seconds!

It was pretty cool i was sitting there last night watching the end of the game. I flipped back because espn was on a commercial break and joe buck was saying goodbye. I noticed in the bottem it said something like "the fixer" performed by pearl jam.... :o

I was like oh damn they played it and i missed it. Then a second later joe said and we'll leave you with new music from pearl jam :D

I did not hear enough of it to form an opinion but that was cool wish they would of told us about it on the site

it sounded extremely poppy to me im going to have to hear the whole thing before i can really comment

i just have a hard time taking a poppy song from guys in their 40's seriously, but like i said with Joe Buck flapping his gums i couldnt take it in too much

After listening to the clip again I can already say this has MUCH more potential than Got Some!

Got Some is an awesome song, but its just not catchy.. I had to listen to it a few dozen times before I liked it. It's a more complex song with no real defined hook. The average radio listener won't have the patience.

I've only listened to "Got Some" 3 or 4 times right after it was on Conan and it still runs through my head. I am really excited about this album!

From what little I've heard so far:

    1) 30 second cock tease of "The Fixer"
    2) Live version of "Got Some" from the Tonight Show mixed by some demented tone deaf alcoholic
    3) Solo acoustic version of "Unthought Known" that likely bares no resemblence to the final cut
    4) Solo acoustic version of "The End" that likely bares no resemblence to the final cut

I can honestly say that I'm very excited by the direction the band appears to be heading with "Backspacer"

I find it kinda funny that the short crappy clip could really get people that excited for the song. That's hardly enough. I'm kinda surpised that 10C doesn't offer a free download of the entire song with each preorder of either the album or the single vinyl.

I also think the album versions will sound different and much better. At least I hope so.

The only way to get excited by that little bit is if you've always fancied Joe Buck join Pearl Jam and perform a spoken word song with eddie backing him up.

You're probably right about Unthought Known, but Ed sang The End after finishing the album version. I'm not sure he would sing it radically different live. My guess is it will just sound fuller, obviously, with the band.

After only hearing 15 seconds of this song, it tops Got Some, The End Unthought Known and Speed of Sound COMBINED!

I still rank "Got Some" as the best new song I've heard. That song kicks ass!
