Joe Buck introduced it and then kept talking over it but the part I heard was cool. It was a nice surprise. I had to DVR the game since I was not home glad I kept watching till the end credits.0

For god sakes have some discretion, people. Just because it's Pearl Jam doesn't mean it's gold. I hope it is, but I'm realistic when something's not great.
It was too hard to hear it to properly judge it, in my opinion.0 -
Cute. Happy.
Obama has not much to do with it. Fatherhood changed them.

It's impossible to judge a song based on 25 seconds of clips but I like what I'm hearing so far. The production is just classic Brendan O'Brian (good vocal mix/tight bass and kick). With Avocado and now Backspacer it seems like the band is moving in a more uptempo/hook driven direction but with the same non-cliche chord structures and interesting time signatures we've come to expect from the band over the last 10 years or so.So this life is sacrifice...

I like what I'm hearing.
All 30 secnds of this clip were stuck in my head when I woke up this morning...I found myself singing:
"If I could get it back again...yeah yeah yeah yeah"
and that's a good thing.
The song sounds more like a cousin to "Unemployable" than to "World Wide Suicide"
-not sure where Alan Cross heard the WWS tie in-
Anyways...It's a different kind of single from the band
It's got a catchy hook to it and should do well on the radio...but then again...you never know with these damn kids these days.0 -
Are the lyrics "If I could get it back again..." OR "I'd fight to get it back again..." ???? Living in an apartment, I wasn't able to turn it up loud enough to make out the correct lyrics.0

It's probably best to wait until we hear the whole song before we can make that call. But yea I'm interested too. My first impression would be that the "meaning" is quite simple (and that's not a bad thing). It sounds like the protagonist of the song is seeking to get something back that he's apparently lost - i.e., "fix" something that's been wronged. Making him somewhat of a "fixer." That is a pretty lame description, I know, but the best I can do with what we got. The song sounds great though, been stuck in my head all morning.
And thanks for the clarification DPrival - I was betting on "fight to get it back again..."0 -
The melody has been stuck in my head ever since I heard the Showbox clip, and I freaking love what I heard of the studio version's production."They said ... timing was everything
made him ... want to be everywhere
there's a ... lot to be said for nowhere."0 -
Wait till you guys hear GOT SOME studio!0
