They did the remake of the Beatles song "Mrs. Robinson". Their one hit was not even an original song.
beatles?
Alas it was Simon and Garfunkle Vedder Girl! Although it was a song which I'm sure the Liverpudlians would have been proud of!
Rock on!!!!

If It's A Shame About Ray is their greatest contribution to music, it's no wonder few
people have heard about them. Awful, just awful.

I hope the German concert goers from that particular performance got their money Bach......

Nice Watt reference and an appearance from me.

wasnt their biggest hit a cover of mrs robinson???it's largely due to eddie that i liked to jump off of things as a child...0

not a great argument given that PJ's biggest hit was a cover of a 1962 Wayne Cochran song.
oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.0 -

NME have always hated PJ anyway..this article almost read like he's quoting Lannegan saying that crap :shock:0

Back when Vedder was with Bad Radio, he was working stage crew at club in SD. Dando came to town, vedder drew a nice piece of poster art for him, anticipating Dandos reaction. When vedder gave it to him, Dando looked at it, mumbled something negative, and threw it on the floor and walked away.........0

Why will NME hate PJ ? !!! Actually, I do not care... but why ??? :S-- rafa0 -
they're apparently pretty much the people that started the Nirvana-PJ 'feud' story.ravillorias wrote:Pegasus wrote:NME have always hated PJ anyway..this article almost read like he's quoting Lannegan saying that crap

don't ask me why, it's just a fact..most of the UK press don't like them (even Stone made a quip on it in the Q Q&A a couple of years back...Q being one of the haters) but NME worst of all.0 -
Q hate anyone who are not U2 or Radiohead.
NME hate anyone who has band members over the age of 20.

This guys is irrelevant and has been for some time. Oh and so is the NME."Goddamn Romans. Sure know how to make a ... drum room." --Matt Cameron0

Bingo. On both counts.
In the grand scheme of things if NME has to pull stunts like this to get attention/readership then it reveals more about how they operate than it does about Evan Dando's lack of tact or how he chooses to air his opinions."A lot more people are capable of being big out there that just don't give themselves a chance." -Stone Gossard0 -

amazingly, dunkman and i agree from time to time.;)
i truly don't understand why people get *upset*....or the call others names, etc, over something that is SUBJECTIVE TASTE. that is what musical preference is all about...so who gives a flying fuck what this guy or anyone else says? like and enjoy what you will...and leave others to their own personal preferences. i don't think anyone in pj is losing any sleep over it.Stay with me...
Let's just breathe...

why do people have to say a band 'sucks' - can't they just say they aren't into it or it's not their cup of tea. clearly PJ doesn't suck but that doesn't mean they are for everyone. evertime someone doesn't like a band they have to say they suck when in reality most don't suck, you really just don't prefer their music.0

I didn't know that !!! Actually, I prefer the RS magazine, but is hasn't be easy for them here in France, they have relaunched it over and over again..-- rafa0
