I don't think there is any policy out there that can work good for this band ,the demand for tickets will allways be so much greater than the supply ,so even if you get in the lottery you are still not guaranteed a ticket at all i really have to start to pull away from this band will allways love them but i'm not going to go nuts trying to score tickets to me it's not worth the headache anymore ....just give me the new album :)

Let me sum up the usual complaints from past tours.

    1. I don't want to fight with everybody at the same time to purchase tickets. My internet isn't fast/I don't have access to the internet when the tickets go on sale

    2. I don't like people being able to get 10 shows making it so I get worse or no seats at my home town show

    3. I couldn't afford/was 5 years old/forgot to join the fan club in 1994, why is it fair that those people always get the first few rows.

    4. The fan club is allocated x amount of tickets, and x times 3 want fan club tickets.

This solves all those problems, yet people still bitch.

The problem is, most people like 2 of those things, and don't like the other 2. So they bitch about the other 2.

Like I've been in the fan club 15 years, only want to see 1 show, but don't have internet access during the day. So I don't bitch about #1 or #2, but bitch about #3 and #4.

I, myself smak want 3 days to purchase tickets, want the best tickets for my show over people from other cities, want it to be 100% seniority based, and want to be assured tickets because of my seniority.

So they need to make their ticket policy exactly 100% to accomodate me, smak.

I'm seriously confused. How many shows can you put yourself in for? Only one? So, if you don't get that, you're officially screwed?

Or can you put yourself into as many shows as you want and then you only are able to win at most one?

    Or did I miss something?

    Ahhh! Confusing times.

Really?! You'd rather sit the pre-sale out than give it a shot?
Yes, I really would. I only need one seat, and I don't have an extra 80 bucks or feel like trying to find a buyer for the spare. In the past I've bought pairs for various shows, and I had a hard time getting rid of the extra ticket. I've had situations where people wouldn't respond to my posts about the spare ticket until the extreme last minute hoping I'd be desperate and sell under face. I have also had people tell me flat out that they will only pay a good deal under face value. I'm not saying that would happen in this case, but my cash flow is limited and I can't afford to take that chance. I'm sure I will go, it might not be with a ten club ticket and I'm ok with that, and if not I'm ok with that too. I only get paid once a month and I have to budget my cash. Concert tickets are low on the list of priorities, they fall somewhere below rent, food, and utilities.

Ah, gotcha. So it's not the new pre-sale system that doesn't work for you, but rather the Ten Club's practice of only selling in pairs... which isn't new... combined with the hefty price...

I can sympathize with that. Sorry for painting your comment as one about the new pre-sale system. Good luck with ticketmaster, if that's what you choose to do!

No problem, with all the complaining that usually goes on around here, it is very easy to think someone has a problem with the new system. It makes alot of sense to handle it this way, it definately cuts down on traffic and gives everyone a fair chance. I'm one of those people who misses the old days of index cards!

I like the one pair per one show policy. You can get tickets to other shows via TicketMonster... but, my friends with higher numbers who live in Honolulu, Maui and albany should get the best seats in the house... no matter what. based upon they live in those places.
Same goes for the people who live in Philly, Atlanta, Baltimore, etc... I would much rather have them in the best seats than people with lower seniority numbers coming in from places outside those hometowns getting all of the same good seats.
Call it ' Sharing The Wealth' or whatever... i feel it is best for the locals to get the best seats because it may be the only ones they'll get.
    ...
I hope this carries over to the full Band Tour, too.
    Agree completely

Have they stated anywhere if there is a LIMIT to the total number of people they will allow to apply for tickets?

As in, they have X amount of tickets, but they will allow Y number of people to apply for X tickets?

That's the only thing I can see that would make this a problem, if there's still a "1st in line" system according to how many people apply. The standard gripe of "Let us know sooner" is still there, but otherwise I think this is a step in the right direction.

Personally, I think this is GREAT. There are too many pitfalls to buying tickets successfully, and it causes a great deal of stress for us and THEM I'm sure. Why crash the website and create all of this bickering if you don't have to?

Secondly, the whole seniority argument is driven entirely by people's PERSONAL INTERESTS in mind, not by what will give EVERYONE a better experience. I'm not a tree hugging hippie that believes in absolute socialism, but I do think there should be an opportunity for the "less fortunate" (non-early 10C # fans) to experience what they take for granted on a regular basis. I have a 205XXX number, and I would almost go as far as to say that I regret not signing up for the 10C earlier almost to the point that if I could go back in time to change ONE THING in my life, I would have sent in a God Damn 10C membership form back when it all started. If any of us who are later joining members had the slightest clue that signing up at the beginning meant that we would be sitting in the front row and sharing wine with Ed every single show today, we would DEFINITELY have kept our membership current through the years.

I can absolutely understand why low 10C # people are pissed that their ENTITLEMENT is being compromised, but all I can say is think of how special it would be to you if just ONCE you got to sit up in those first few rows. Give the rest of us a chance please.
    I won't change direction, and I won't change my mind - E.V.

I just realized about this policy a few minutes ago, only looked into the dates and went straight to the Goods section earlier today.

Best of luck to everyone who reserved their opportunities. :D
