nice find.....yeah man that would be great if they did the 17th then the vancouver stuff that you said....4 shows would fill me, i wouldnt have to use any vacation for that either.
i can see vancouver getting 4 shows, if calgary is getting 3, depending on venue size. they did 4 commodores in 06.....so who knows...... is it obvious how excited i am? its been too long since i saw them last.Van '98, Sea I+II '00, Sea '01, Sea II '02, Van '03, Gorge, Van, Cal, Edm '05, Bos I+II, Phi I+II, DC, SF II+III, Port, Gorge I+II '06, DC, NY I+II '08, Sea I+II, Van, Ridge , LA III+IV' 09, Indy '10, Cal, Van '11, Lond, Van, Sea '13, Memphis '14, RRHOF '17, Sea I+II '18, Van I+II, Vegas I+II, Sea I+II '240 -

I would be happy with 3, apparently the ticket prices for the Calgary shows are 100+ so who knows even then how many I would go to at that price.
I just kind of hope they dont play here after the Calgary shows in September, might be hard for me to do anything in September. You know ....{if (work != 0) {

Good news for all:
The Hip are doing small concert hall venues with multiple dates in each city.
I wonder what the odds are of them getting close enough to the states for me to catch this? That sounds fucking awesome!
Uh you live in Chicago? They have 2 dates posted at the Vic on TM.

Sadly, I'll have left Chicago to move back to Ohio. My bar review class starts the same day as the first of those shows :(Post edited by soulsinging on0 -

SOUTHERN ALBERTA JUBILEE AUDITORIUM - CALGARY, AB
Doors 6:30pm Show 7:30pm
Canada’s band, The Tragically Hip, announce their Canadian tour dates hitting Banff's Eric Harvie Theatre on September 19th and Calgary’s Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium on September 21st, 23rd & 24th! With the purchase of a ticket, The Hip are offering their fans the option to pre-order their highly anticipated 12th studio album, We Are The Same, due out April 7th, 2009. With the purchase of the album, Hip fanatics will also receive a bonus live album, Live From The Vault: Volume 4, that is not available in stores.
The Tragically Hip, a dozen albums and 26 years in the making, shows us once again not only why they are but who they are, snowshoeing through new land while sowing seeds for all of us secret musicians and poets and citizens hungry for a chance and a change. We Are the Same, brings its listeners something beyond the unexpected: actual hope. Gord Downie’s lyrics-backed by a band ripe with confidence and skill-tackle what we might assume had passed far under the bridge. Bob Rock recorded and mixed We Are The Same at the band’s Bath House studio in Kingston, Vancouver and Maui.
Critically acclaimed for over two decades, The Tragically Hip has been at the heart of the Canadian music scene for evoking a strong emotional connection between their music and their fans that remains unrivalled in this country. A five-piece group of friends including Robby Baker (guitar), Gordon Downie (vocals, guitar), Johnny Fay (drums), Paul Langlois (guitar) and Gord Sinclair (bass), who grew up in Kingston, Ontario, The Hip has achieved the enviable status of a band that enjoys both mass popularity with over 8 million albums sold worldwide, as well as peer recognition through 31 Juno Award Nominations and 11 wins.{if (work != 0) {

I wonder if I should splurge on botch Detroit shows... I'm not keen on making the drive 2 days in a row and I'm a bit strapped for a hotel, plus I don't know anyone that'd want to go back to back nights. I may just get myself a ticket for Saturday.
Is there any way to check and see if I'm registered with their site? I get their emails, so I would assume so...0 -
yeah you'd be registered.

Sweet - 5 shows at Massey Hall!
I'm registered, but anyone rememeber how they do the passwords? I think you go to the hip site in the morning and you'll see the password there right?0 -
Haha I was all excited to get tickets for a minute...
until I realized they were $90 a ticket! With S/C that'll be over $200 for a pair. Umm no thanks...I'll keep my money for another PJ show.
Boston fans are lucky though...$29 per ticket!0 -

I can't find any info on the pricing for the Detroit show. I hope it's more in line with the other US shows... no way can I afford to go to more than one at that price!0 -
*crosses fingers for tickets* I am going broke keeping up with shows this year! Good way to go broke, though.
Kingston show is a benefit for G Fund, (G was a local radio Dj who has been diagnosed with ALS). Show is also opened by The Trews.0 -

i feel for the younger generation who literally wont be able to see some bands just due to lack of funds and skyrocketing prices. pretty nice to have a bunch of shows under your belt though, because it looks like it will be slim concerting for myself the way thes prices are going.....
