    Passing interest in Nirvana.

AIC on the other hand...... hard to do as Layne would keep fucking up and go to rehab and kill the chance for touring.

    Saw PJ in '94

  • I saw alice in chains in 1993 @ lolla in Washington state at the gorge. It was insane. Primus, Tool, Rage, Fishbone, etc etc etc. There was a rumor that PJ was going to play a secret 2nd stage show. Me and a friend ate a tab each and lost our minds. In the pit, front and center for all of AIC. Layne was CRAZY close.
  • Lollapalooza '92: Pearl Jam
    Lollapalooza '93: Alice In Chains
Missed Nirvana in '93. Had ticket, could not go. Driver bailed on us!

WOW, that sounds like it was an awesome show! I would have loved to seen Layne and Kurt live in concert but unfortunately that will never happen. :(

Saw PJ twice in 1993, in San Diego and Las Vegas; saw Nirvana on 12/29/93 in San Diego; were supposed to see AIC on 7/31/94 at Brown Field in SD but they canceled at the last minute. Was really bummed. :( Also saw Soundgarden in 1994 at the Del Mar Fairgrounds. :)

Friends of mine saw PJ at at both shows in Victoria in 91 and AIC, Nirvana and Blind Melon...and a pile of times in 1992, mostly at bars and clubs. I think they stopped seeing them in 93...I heard them from my condo when they played the Plaza of Nations in Vancouver in 93 (?) - does that count?

1994 is the best I can do for PJ- was pretty fucking amazing- just a different energy than nowadays. Not less energy these days, just different.

  • I got to see PJ at the Moore the night Even Flow was filmed, Then saw them at Lollapalooza 92, saw them again at Drop In The Park, and 22 more times after. I even got to see Mother Love Bone in 90. I saw Alice 12 times, three times in 91. I only saw Nirvana real early on when they opened for Tad in Olympia in (I wanna say) 89.
There's alot to be said for Nowhere
  • I know this doesn't fit under this post but 2 great shows- 1995Saw the deads final show at soldiers field and then saw Pj a day or 2 later at soldiers field. My choice in music changed that day.

Hmm.... Not sure I can even remember them all. Living in Seattle I saw most of there shows, Alice at Rckndy, Mad Season same, Lolla 92. Pj at the showbox, off ramp, Nirvana various places etc. Yeah those were two great years to be liviing in Seattle! :)

This thread makes me so jealous

Would also like to add Soundgarden and Blind Melon.
  • Whoa...this brings back memories, even though some of them are a bit foggy (Exact date? Venue? Who did the band play with? Who the hell did I go home with!?) due to too much alcohol.

Nirvana: '90 @ the Pine Street Theater, Portland, '91 @ the Satyricon, Portland (the night Kurt met Courtney? Oh, really...), '92 @ the Portland Meadows, Portland (a benefit for No Against 9, back when Lon Mabon and the religious right were trying to run every gay person out of Oregon.) Always hoped I'd see them play again, but you know THAT wasn't in the cards. :(

AIC: saw them twice, 1990 @ the Melody Ballroom w/Soundgarden (I think it was the MB!) & 1993 @ Lollapalooza, Portland Meadows, Portland.

PJ: 1991 @ the Off Ramp (still Mookie!) in Seattle, & the Satyricon in Portland. 1992 @ the Roseland in Portland & Lolla! (in da sticks!) 1993 @ the Portland Meadows. Wouldn't see PJ again until 1998.
