Friends of mine saw PJ at at both shows in Victoria in 91 and AIC, Nirvana and Blind Melon...and a pile of times in 1992, mostly at bars and clubs. I think they stopped seeing them in 93...I heard them from my condo when they played the Plaza of Nations in Vancouver in 93 (?) - does that count?

1994 is the best I can do for PJ- was pretty fucking amazing- just a different energy than nowadays. Not less energy these days, just different.

I even got to see Mother Love Bone in 90. I saw Alice 12 times, three times in 91. I only saw Nirvana real early on when they opened for Tad in Olympia in (I wanna say) 89.

This thread makes me so jealous

Would also like to add Soundgarden and Blind Melon.
  • Whoa...this brings back memories, even though some of them are a bit foggy (Exact date? Venue? Who did the band play with? Who the hell did I go home with!?) due to too much alcohol.

Nirvana: '90 @ the Pine Street Theater, Portland, '91 @ the Satyricon, Portland (the night Kurt met Courtney? Oh, really...), '92 @ the Portland Meadows, Portland (a benefit for No Against 9, back when Lon Mabon and the religious right were trying to run every gay person out of Oregon.) Always hoped I'd see them play again, but you know THAT wasn't in the cards. :(

AIC: saw them twice, 1990 @ the Melody Ballroom w/Soundgarden (I think it was the MB!) & 1993 @ Lollapalooza, Portland Meadows, Portland.

PJ: 1991 @ the Off Ramp (still Mookie!) in Seattle, & the Satyricon in Portland. 1992 @ the Roseland in Portland & Lolla! (in da sticks!) 1993 @ the Portland Meadows. Wouldn't see PJ again until 1998.

Had a ticket for the Nirvana gig in Dublin. Date 8th April 94. Around the time he died.

Regarding Soundgarden they cancelled when playing with the Chili peppers in 94/95 and were dropped from the Guns n roses gig in Ireland 92 for an irish band. WTF!!!!

saw all three - PJ twice in 92

Pj at the Cameo - my first show - which well, blew my doors off and that a big reason I'm still here today. Then later that summer on the day before Hcane Andrew blasted us at LLpalooza - with RHCP, Ministry and Soundgarden....wow what a crazy long day.

AIC at what is now Revolution in Lauderdale - Lane was still in a cast and they killed it !They were doing oldies and songs off of Dirt at the time.

Nirvana at Bayfront - great high energy show - I remember being so happy that they did NOT play Smell Like. It was overhyped even then. They knew better and so did we. Pennyroyal Tea was a standout.

    that's all folks.

Saw PJ with Blind Melon and Neil Young in 93. Saw Nirvana in early 94 right before Kurt . . . I mean Courtney shot him.

Supposed to see AIC but they cancelled and Candlebox replaced them on the bill.

Also saw Soundgarden with Eleven in 94 or 95.
