Soggy Cereal

This thread is so gross...lol.
I'm practically reading some of these posts with my eyes partially covered, like someone watching a horror movie.
I am really put off by some textures. Sauteed onions are the worst. *shiver* Sometimes tomato chunks get me, too, if I am surprised by a big one in pizza sauce or something.0 -

that's just nasty hells.... :shock:it's what I was brought up on... good way to warm your kids up before heading off to school in the winter... and porridge too... I'm guessing many of you don't like that either? LOVE porridge... even ready brek... but I like the ready brek lumpy
not completely smoothe.

and i was only joking. point being, if you don't like crunchy cereal, why buy crunchy cereal? of course, we all know...there ARe plenty of cereals out there that will become soggy, mushy messes if you let em...i just can't believe it's actually a preference for some.yikes! haha.
That's like saying if you don't like raw eggs...why buy them?
my post clearly covered that already. i wouldn't go out of my way to buy crunchy cereal if i didn't like it....i'd buy cereals like life, or raisin bran, etc...cereals that go mush almost from the get-go, if soggy was my preference. so if you don't like crunchy, don't buy crunchy!
and hmmm......since raw eggs will make you ill, i don't think it's a good point of comparison. just sayin'.
Yea...but you know there are other comparisons that could easily be made, besides raw eggs. To each there own, right? Isn't that what you always preach in your posts?? :P
What if there are no 'soft' cereals with the equivalent flavor of a crunchy one? Wouldn't it make sense to get the cereal you like, then eat it the way you prefer? And what is this 'going out of my way' business? Isn't one cereal like 2 feet away from any other? lol24 years old, mid-life crisis

don't get me started on textures...the onions i'm ok with but those big chunks of tomato...no way i'm eating that
other textures i won't eat...mushrooms and olives...yuck!!0 -

i think to each his/her own has already been covered....i was discussing MY preferences. and when i say 'go out of your way'....i mean, why spend money on it if it's not the way you like it? however, you've now explained it, in far greater detail than i ever would've imagined for a soggy cereal discussion....so i DO 'get it' now....tho for me, still.....yuck. enjoy your soggy cereal! :P
norm......i LOVE black olives.....and i enjoy the smaller mushrooms, but my sister is the same way in regards to mushrooms. i take it you don't care for tofu either? similar consistency. textures in foods really ARE a big deal, absolutely!Stay with me...

hmm... maybe it's just me... but if 'all y'all' are so nauseated reading about soggy cereal, why open a thread entitled 'soggy cereal'? And why continue reading?
I certainly wouldn't open a thread entitled 'pictures of disgusting creepy spiders'
