I can't eat cereal until it gets soggy! I hate crunchiness and love the texture of soggy cereal...especially the flakey ones, like bran flakes, total, etc. Oooohhh and golden grahams and cinnamon toast crunch and checks! Nothing like a good soggy bowl of golden grahams. And the milk at the bottom?!?! Absolute heaven!!! Mmm mmm mmm.
You're weird, M.
I'm going to be sick, M.

i don't....far too much into the mushy, smooshy food consistency issue for me. :P
and i was only joking. point being, if you don't like crunchy cereal, why buy crunchy cereal? of course, we all know...there ARe plenty of cereals out there that will become soggy, mushy messes if you let em...i just can't believe it's actually a preference for some. yikes! haha.
That's like saying if you don't like raw eggs...why buy them?
my post clearly covered that already. i wouldn't go out of my way to buy crunchy cereal if i didn't like it....i'd buy cereals like life, or raisin bran, etc...cereals that go mush almost from the get-go, if soggy was my preference. so if you don't like crunchy, don't buy crunchy!
and hmmm......since raw eggs will make you ill, i don't think it's a good point of comparison. just sayin'.
Oh I love soggy cereal! Shredded Wheat, Weetabix and Shreddies inparticular
I like soggy sandwiches too though... I have tomato in mine everyday in hope that the bread will soften
It's odd though, I know quite a few people who don't like sloppy textures in food. My mum won't even have bread or cheese sauce on a roast dinner if it has gravy... apparently she can't mix sloppy food
mmm... I love soggy cereal too... I find hard cereal can make me really thirsty so i need plenty of milk with it.
Your soggy sandwich thing made me think of sausage sandwich with melting butter and ketchup... mmmm... the goodness

i don't allow it to get soggy.....eat it really fast...and the milk has to be super cold....warm milk makes me want to vomit
warm milk is great on cornflakes and weetabix in the winter let them get all warm and soggy and it heats you up for ages.

Is the most disgusting thing...bleh. It makes me gag. I guess I have issues with texture.
i absolutely have issues with texture, big time! always have!
food textures are VERY important, and you bet, soggy cereal is disgusting. no way can i eat it. however, the cereal i regularly eat, kashi go lean crunch.....would take a looooonnnnnngggg time to ever get soggy. probably just yet another reason i love it so.
That stuff wreaks havoc on my digestive system, I don't know how people can eat it. It's like the real life "Colon Blow" from that SNL skit.
I love Cinnamon Life, which gets soggy faster than any cereal I know. I drink the milk too. Nothing phases me!
I'm practically reading some of these posts with my eyes partially covered, like someone watching a horror movie.
I am really put off by some textures. Sauteed onions are the worst. *shiver* Sometimes tomato chunks get me, too, if I am surprised by a big one in pizza sauce or something.

that's just nasty hells....
it's what I was brought up on... good way to warm your kids up before heading off to school in the winter... and porridge too... I'm guessing many of you don't like that either? LOVE porridge... even ready brek... but I like the ready brek lumpy not completely smoothe.

Yea...but you know there are other comparisons that could easily be made, besides raw eggs. To each there own, right? Isn't that what you always preach in your posts?? :P
What if there are no 'soft' cereals with the equivalent flavor of a crunchy one? Wouldn't it make sense to get the cereal you like, then eat it the way you prefer? And what is this 'going out of my way' business? Isn't one cereal like 2 feet away from any other? lol

don't get me started on textures...the onions i'm ok with but those big chunks of tomato...no way i'm eating that
other textures i won't eat...mushrooms and olives...yuck!!

mmm... I love garlic... buy it fresh, chop it up and crush it... could just as easily use a garlic grinder but I love going to a bit of effort for food and for flavour... always tastes so much better

i think to each his/her own has already been covered....i was discussing MY preferences. and when i say 'go out of your way'....i mean, why spend money on it if it's not the way you like it? however, you've now explained it, in far greater detail than i ever would've imagined for a soggy cereal discussion....so i DO 'get it' now....tho for me, still.....yuck. enjoy your soggy cereal! :P
norm......i LOVE black olives.....and i enjoy the smaller mushrooms, but my sister is the same way in regards to mushrooms. i take it you don't care for tofu either? similar consistency. textures in foods really ARE a big deal, absolutely!

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the occasional crunchy cereal too, but really, have you even tried soggy cinnamon toast crunch? Have you ever had a drink of the cinnamony goodness leftover? Or the golden nectar left behind by a bowl of soggy golden grahams?

For the record, soggy cereal truly does suck. Crunchy all the way!

I like soggy cereal.
That's cool. I respect the soggy cereal eaters. What is so funny to me is that I've had this exact debate with my wife a million times. She's all about the soggy cereal.
hmm... maybe it's just me... but if 'all y'all' are so nauseated reading about soggy cereal, why open a thread entitled 'soggy cereal'? And why continue reading? I certainly wouldn't open a thread entitled 'pictures of disgusting creepy spiders'

Doesn't bug me one way or another, but it depends on the cereal.
Stuff like shreddies isn't very good soggy.
