I can't believe all the Upstaters posting! Nice! And where the hell did all the CT people come from???

I won't do a love/hate thread cause I have roots in 4 places (CT, MA, RI, NY)

for your upstaters...love - Dinosaur BBQ, 1,000 Islands, The Loud House, the fact that at any given 1/2 hour you can hear either Zeppelin or Floyd on the radio, Colemans (& green beer), Finger Lakes wine trail, Labatts
hate - suffercuse weather...not so much the snow, because that's what you get up there, but the gray clouds all winter long.

CT - love - my roots; love proximity to many cities - large and small; competition of many different sports teams; Huskies; the Rent!; my dream house...
hate - shoreline attitude and fairfield county snobs. fairweather fans.

RI - love - Prov culture; Fed Hill; Blackstone Blvd; good Italian and seafood joints; beach; Newport
hate - corruption and back taxes

MA - love - my house - a new beginning
hate - those accents; sports fans; more casinos; being labeled Taxachusetts

Totaly forgot about the deer carcasses straped to the cars. I missed or forgot about covering the deer season this year. In n. nevada there is no real deer hunting season.

the four seasons
the leaves changing in the fall
the beaches! (esp. Long Beach)
that you can go 'upstate' and feel like you're in another country (I have been in most cities in the state)
the lakes upstate and the beautiful mountains and the clean air upstate

the diversity

the FOOD

the cool people

the pride you feel being a "New Yawker"

don't love:
the subway esp in the summer
the high cost of living
that unless you are super rich you can't afford to live in Manhattan
the rodents and the cockroaches! :eek:
all that snow upstate (I went to Buffalo undergrad)

Love: Longer summers/shorter winters, great minor league baseball and college sports, close to Minnesota

Hate: Flat, windy, lack of good entertainment options in the city

how I could forget the Yankees?!The DMV Express on 34th Street is not that bad

What I LOVVVVE about california is we have EVERYTHING.
More importantly THE BEACH!!! You can be at the beach by day, Hollywood by night.

I love that i can pretty much be barefoot or in flip flops at all times.
I love that i have AWESOME pearl jam frenz to hang out with and see random shows that are NOT pearl jam.
I love LAXXX!!!!!

There is no single point in the state of Florida which is more than 60 miles from a coast (Gulf of Mexico, Atlantic Ocean, or Caribbean Sea).

That's what I love about it.

I pretty much love Washington.

But this state is weird on some things. I really HATE the fact that it's a "mothered" state, meaning that even if you are biggest piece of sh1t loser for a mother, you can get custody over the father simply because you have a vagina. I'm not down with that and it's really unfair to good fathers.

I also cannot stand the drivers in this state. They do not know how to observe the rules of the road. LEFT LANE = FAST LANE. Everyone knows this... except in WA. I got hit by TWO semi-trucks in the 2 years I have been here! TWO! And it was their fault, 100%. The last accident could have killed us.

I love Washington for it's beauty, awesome climate (I love rain), cool people, interesting things to do and all of the water! It also has wonderful public transportation.

Oops, almost forgot... for Pearl Jam too! hehe.

LOVE: All four seasons, Every Lake and beach, beautiful nature and outdoor activities, Michigan accent, the fact you can buy beer and liquor anywhere, proximity to chicago, midwest, vernors, squirt (how come i can't find it here?!), Bells Brewery, the UP, sand dunes, inland waterways, beer tents, kalamazoo, cheboygan

Hate: the economy, lack of proximity to some big cities

Pennsylvania (newly a resident here)
Love: Proximity to lots of big cities and everything that comes with it, cheesesteaks, yuengling, historical aspects, the fact that people want to come visit me
Hate: Lack of snow, you can't buy beer and liquor anywhere nor at any time nor in the same damn place!, lack of vernors and squirt, lack of lakes/fresh clean water.......
