For fans of the show it is.
I have never laughed that much in a movie.
Would you like it?? Hard to say.
I can't wait to see it again.

the only thing that would be appealing to men is the sexy scenes, but imo you would only like it if you were a fan of the series. Which i'm guessing you are probably not? :)

i watched it the other day, and a woman (late 30's at least) next to me was sobbing through the whole thing! tears and weeping that turned from happyness to sorrow to happyness again... It was so funny!

i probably wouldn't object to it, i've seen a few episodes of the show from time to time when it was on hbo. plus there might be a favorable ratio in the theater for me..

    i freakin LOVED this movie! Let me add this;
I was never a big fan of miranda. She's too uptight and worries WAY more than i can even imagine. So when she ruined the wedding, i was PISSED!!!! i wanted to hit her! :D HOWEVER, what she said was SO true!!!! Mayyyybe it was just a wee bit of badd timing to mouth it when she did? Either way, this movie was great. Sarah Jessica NAILED the scenes of her feeling nothing and sleeping and just being broken. NAILED IT. I would say that hadd to have been thee most REAL scene in the movie!

let's just say, they didn't do too bad at the box office opening weekend. Having come back from Seattle seeing Rush at the Gorge, I unpacked my bags and casually went to our local movie theatre to catch 6:15Pm show today. To my shock, not only did that show was sold out, but the next two as well!!! I was like, 5 years after show being over??? Really?? Damn!! And this is just a small town movie theatre here in San Mateo, CA mind you. I don't even know what happened in San Francisco???

This movie is like the Star Wars for chicks. :p

PBW liked it...there were a few things she didn't like, but was happy with it overall.

She said she wanted to see it with more of her friends to take it all in again.

She told me that when the theme music started playing at the beginning, everyone in the theater starting cheering. I told her that reminded me of when we saw "Phantom Menace".

Me and my girls were all excited when the music came on! :)
The theatre was packed, but someone had saved us a whole row so it was all either my girlfriends or one of their moms and her friends.
And then they showed a little montage of scenes from the series..it was awesome.
I am going again on Thurs with some different gf's. :)

... and I still think Drive-By Truckers are better.

    can't you go alone?
i've gone to many flicks solo....it's fine!
ifi don't have someone willing to see something i REALLY want to see, i don't ever let that hold me back. it's a movie.....you're in the dark and should be watching the movie, and while company is nice...it certainly is not a prerequisite to enjoying a film. just my 0.02. i'd go with ya if it weren't for this pesky ocean. :p

btw - don't EVER 'drag' anyone to see a film they don't want to see....it just sucks.

Oh I was only joking, I'd never drag him to that... I do want him to remain in love with me and not resentful :p

Thanks hon, it would be fun if it weren't for the big puddle!

I was thinking of going on my own one night next week tbh :)

i went last night with 4 other girls and one boy (one of the girls' boyfriend). it was funny because he was so sure everyone would assume he was gay. we kept referring to him as stanford...lol. but there were a lot of couples there. our showing (7:30 on sunday night) wasnt sold out.

i thought it was great. mixed reviews from my group, but seemed like the bigger fan of the show, the more you liked the movie. i cried like 4 times! when carried took her sunglasses off in mexico and you saw how red her eyes were...that broke my heart.

one of my friends didnt care for the jennifer hudson character, and thought she was unnecessary...but we discussed it at length after the movie and she changed her mind eventually....she was there to remind carrie of where her journey to find love began- the hopefullness and heartbreak all rolled into one.

i will be seeing this again. in preparation for the movie, i have been having a SATC marathon and had to buy 2 seasons to complete my set...and there was a free pass for the movie in each.

oh yeah........another observation......i got the impression that a LOT of the people in the theater had only seen the show in re-runs on TBS.....because there were several shocked gasps during the sex scenes. i thought they were just like the original series...but i guess if you had only seen the watered down TBS version it would have seemed pretty obscene.
