    Nice

They've been shaky at best this year back there
Gotten better now that Alberts has settled in. Carle has impressed in his few games so far too. They'll have a logjam soon, which is good except for the cap problems.

If it wasn't Hartnell, I'd have been enraged. You just can't get angry at a man with that hair.

Does anyone care that Briere's out for another month+? We're pretty well cleaning up offensively anyway. And it clears cap room for Jones's return.

My brother thinks Briere is the next Foppa. I don't agree - Briere doesn't have a congenital defect that requires breaking bones to perform surgery...and surgery, and surgery...
I'd like to see them shut him down long enough to let it heal properly, the way they did Gagne last year.

Went to the game in Raleigh on Saturday night with my best friend from college who moved there. The arena was barely half full and about a quarter of them were Flyers fans. It was a real good time though because I'm a big fan of the RBC Center.

They're only proud of their team during playoff time.
  • Some how this team has the same amount of points at this point as last year

Started much hotter last year I think like 6-1

I had a Jersey dilemma..tried to change my Downie Jersey into a Carter Jersey but the numbers were an issue...you could still see the outline of the 2

Long story short...just changed the name plate to HEXTALL !!

I'm still on the prowl for a Carter 3rd Jersey

Why would you have a Downie jersey in the first place? Yuck.

The 'same point - same time' as last year phenomenon is widespread, btw.

They also don't know the game at all. The guys behind me were complaining that Brindamour didn't score at least a couple of goals a game because he's the captain. And once when Carter had a breakaway, I had at least a few people in the crowd yell tackle him.

I think if you look at this team they might have a real shot at the Cup this year if they can stay healthy. Their defense seems really solid now and they have a couple of stars on offense if Gagne and Briere can stay healthly. With Carter on a 60 goal place and Richards is a stud too this team is looking damn good. Take away the 1st two weeks of the season or so and this team has been one of the best if not the best in the NHL.
  • chromiamchromiam Posts: 4,114
still too inconsistent especially 5 on 5... if they can remedy that over the next month or so, then I see a solid playoff team. If not, then I see the same streaky team as last year who ended up in the conference finals but just as easily could have been golfing when the playoffs started.

There's a video on the700level.com about Joffrey Lupul talking about his love of playing guitar and he says he loves to play Pearl Jam songs, and mentions Eddie Vedder. pretty cool

Those 3rd jerseys are sweet, especially compared to some of the new roadkill we've seen this year (Bolts, Sens, LA). I've resisted buying the new Reebok jerseys 'cause I don't like the fabric at all. But I might go for one of these on ebay at some point.

My brother just won a Gagne away signed by much of the team.

I'm getting a replica Richards black one (pre-Rbk Edge) for Xmas. Very psyched.
Nothing will take away from my authentic white Primeau though. :)

And a Cowboys fan too? BOOOO!

Seriously, Fly Guys fans, I am bored with the All-Star break. I'm glad the guys get some rest, but, jesus, this is dull. And we're subjected to the Forsberg-a-thon. Again.

EDIT: I didn't see the Klotz incident mentioned in the Philly.com version of the local papers. That's some scary shit.

I hear ya..I was flipping through last night hoping the skills competition was on at least !

Why does Homer have such a hard on for Forsberg ?? We do not need a Center/Forward..we need a solid D-Man

Klotz Incident ? Haven't heard about that

Edit : I found it..wow that is weird

Don't necessaryily like that Luca was sent down to the minors but I'd rather he play consistent minutes than be a healthy scratch most nights. I think there will be a move shortly, as soon as Briere is healthy enough to play and has a few rehab games with the Phantoms. I can see Metro or maybe Alberts moving but Alberts has been somewhat effective clearing out around the net and along the boards.
