    Nah, checked a schedule for the first home series against an "easy" team after the Red Sox series in June.

    Figured that they'd want him to start at home to get the crowd behind him and that there would be no way he would be in game shape by the time of the Sox series at Fenway.

    Was a tough loss. I have not a clue why they sent Dustin. Could had kept the inning going. They must had been tired after that game. But today's a different day.

    Sox are really struggling now. Dice-K pitched well last night but got no help. Must avoid the sweep...

    Has everyone jumped ship since the Sox are slumping? Time for a thread revival. Sox rebound tonight vs. the Giants. We got lucky that the Yankee bats took the night off against the Mets since the Antichrist pitched a solid game allowing only 2 runs over 6 1/3.

    Just got home from the game today.........Dice K looked good.

    He definitely looked the best he's looked all year yesterday. Hopefully a sign of things to come!

    Beckett pitched very well today and improved to 11-1. Yanks lose again, fall 11.5 games back. Good day to be a Sox fan. Now if only the Tar Heels can pull out a victory tonight all will be good!

    Beckett is Great! Im glad he got the win today! HE is the first to grab #11 this year

    Bumping this up. 50-31 was nice for the first half and Dice K looked dominant tonight.

    If you would have told me he would go 10-5 with a 3.53 era through the first half at the start of the season, I would have taken that in a heart beat.

    Yes, after a very shaky start, it seems like Dice-K has finally gotten adjusted to the style of MLB baseball. I was especially happy with the one walk tonight. Beckett and Dice-K will be the best 1-2 punch in the AL next year, if not already this year.

    Totally agree. Manny has been horrible for Manny the last 2-3 weeks.

    That's what is scary about the Sox. they're winning but their O is just sputtering along.

    We never should have fired our old hitting coach, good old Papa Jack, but someone had to be blamed for the third place finish.

    And it's a real shame about Youk. Next year in an American League park, I think he'll get voted in because the fans love him.

    Thought I'd bump this us tonight.

    Good to see Lester do well in his debut. He scuffled there for a bit but pitched well.

    Also good to see the Sox are still holding their lead with 15 of their final 60 games against the Devil Rays. Seriously, whoever made the schedule this season was a Sox fan ... ;)
