It's called 'The Rocket' and is actually pretty good. Avery gets beat up in it, and while that is good upon itself, it is not the reason the movie is good ;)
more info please? I'd like to check it out.

i looked it up on IMDB.com

In the late 1930s, a young machinist named Maurice Richard distinguished himself as a ice hockey player of preternatural talent. Although that was enough to get him into the Montreal Canadiens, his frequent injuries cost him the confidence of his team and the fans. In the face of these doubts, Richard eventually shows the kind of aggressive and skillful play that would make him one of the greatest players of all time as "The Rocket." However for all his success, Richard and his fellow French Canadians face constant discrimination in a league dominated by the English speaking. Although a man of few words, Richard begins to speak his own mind about the injustice which creates a organizational conflict that would culminate in his infamous 1955 season suspension that sparks an ethnic riot in protest. In the face of these challenges, Richard must decide who exactly is he playing for. Written by Kenneth Chisholm (kchishol@rogers.com)

The Blue Team, which will play at home against Ottawa and in New Jersey, will have Lundqvist, Mike Brodeur, and Antoine Lafleur in net and a defense of Redden and Girardi, Kalinin and Brian Fahey, Pock and Sanguinetti, and Mike Busto as an extra. The forwards will be Gomez centering Naslund and Zherdev, Dubinsky centering Fritsche and Callahan (Tom Renney said he sees Fritsche purely as a winger), Betts with Korpikoski and Orr, and Tommy Pyatt centering Brodie Dupont and Andreas Jamtim.

Posters of Mike Rogers, the Maloney bros, Beck, Duguay, Tom Laidlaw, James Patrick, Mike Allison ( I can keep going n spill names like it was 1985, :D)etc all over my room.
