    THIS is getting weird..

i think it might be a good idea to not bring him to sweden ..let him rest even the first 2 real games

then we have the crazy west coast trip....see how he feels then...

worst case let him rest till the home opener which is about 1 month away( will only miss 8 games or so)

all that flying might not be helpful

flipped it on in the 3rd to see the Flyers send the Rangers home with anouther loss.

while it sucks that anybody gets hurt, based on their careers, it looks like you had a guy trying to make a play to show what he can do after a trade.

i'm suprised you aren't up in arms after that simmons slur to avery.

gonna be a fun regular season with these two teams.

there was an incredible HBO documentary years ago on the racism in soccer across england and europe. thierry henry used to get spit on and stuff thrown at him by his OWN fans when he first starting playing.

the guy would take a corner kick and you would see fans just spitting on his back and throwing bananas at him.

    fucking ignorance in this world.

personally I don't have a problem with it. I get some of what he brings but this shouldn't be a big loss.

I always felt that when he was injured the first time around during 2007-08, the Rangers played up their record with and without him way too much and this was when they had guys like Shanahan, Jagr, Drury and Gomez on the team.

I remember it well, Graves wore number 11 for the first game. I really liked Bernie Nicholls but if that's what it took to get Messier, then so be it. I remember Messier scoring in his first game in Montreal, where they hadn't won in forever until that point.

This was who played in his first game as a Ranger:

    Tie Domi 0 1
    Mike Gartner 1 2
    Adam Graves 0 3
    Mark Hardy 0 0
    Jody Hull 0 0
    Tim Kerr -1 0
    Kris King 0 1
    Brian Leetch 1 0
    Mark Messier 1 1
    Randy Moller -1 1
    John Ogrodnick 1 1
    James Patrick 1 1
    Normand Rochefort 0 0
    David Shaw 1 1
    Darren Turcotte 0 2
    Tony Amonte -1 2
    Sergei Nemchinov 1 3
    Doug Weight 1 4

    Montreal Canadiens
    Name +/- shots
    Guy Carbonneau -1 3
    Alain Cote 0 0
    Russ Courtnall -1 1
    JJ Daigneault 1 0
    Eric Desjardins -1 1
    Donald Dufresne 0 1
    Todd Ewen 0 0
    Brent Gilchrist 0 2
    Mike Keane 1 4
    John LeClair 1 1
    Stephan Lebeau 1 1
    Michael McPhee -1 1
    Kirk Muller -1 3
    Denis Savard -1 6
    Mathieu Schneider -1 3
    Brian Skrudland 0 1
    Petr Svoboda -1 1
    Sylvain Turgeon -1 1

First the Rangers sell my seats I've had for three years out from under me -- and this is after I had given them a deposit toward them for the 2011-2012 season back in April -- and then they go and get rid of Avery, with Torts being absolutely classless about it (and I like Torts).

I was hoping to share my seats and the fun of watching Sean Avery do his thing with my daughter, who just might be old enough for her first hockey game, this year. Guess I'll be taking her to see the Brooklyn Aviators or something. Hey, maybe they'll claim Sean!

Seriously, though, Avery and Prust were the only two guys who showed up for the playoffs last season.
