    i know, it was weird cuz i had left work a bit ago, just went in for a little bit to get some stuff shipped out, my dad had called my office to ask me if he could pick anything up for tonite, and then he got a call from a sister who gave him the news, and my sis just called to tell me. he just took off for a walk so i'm gonna go over to their house and spend a little time with them. my mom was upset by the timing.

    i hope tonite goes smoothly anyway

    last night went well! despite the fact my parents weren't able to be there i had a good turn out, and it came in waves so it wasn't like there were a ton of people and then they all left lol lots of friends, my boss and her daughter, students from the lab came out too. it really touched me to see everybody there.

    one of my friends is dating someone on the city council, he made an announcement about my exhibition at the council meeting! :eek: he also took a pic of me next to my centerpiece print so he could put in the city newsletter :)

    overall it was a great experience, i was so anxious and worried too about the weather deterring folks - it was pouring all afternoon but thankfully the rain stopped like at 5:30 and held off the rest of the night! had a late dinner with friends afterwards.

    OMG i feel SOOOOOOO relieved...whew! i'll share pics when i get them from my sis :)

    i'm a worrywart, it's just how i roll haha

    thanks, yeah i hope hte announcement and newsletter mention will help! quite a few people were interested in buying prints, so hopefully that makes my christmas shopping nice and healthy :)

    thanks. yeah i feel bad for my dad, although my mom was apparently acting like a grade A beyotch when my sis went by before coming to the theater. my mom acted out when my sis had her reception too...she can't stand not being the center of attention and was just determined to make it all about her. for the past few days she was going on about how she was coming down with something and might not go (even though she felt fine to go shopping sunday lol).

    while i'm a little disappointed they couldn't be there last night, i'm understanding about my dad, but my mom's a whole other story. i'm a little pissed off at her. it's like the one time i ask for support.....ah well, whatever, i'm just glad that the people who do care about me made it!

    yeah my mom was definitely acting out, probably a blessing in disguise she wasn't there, i was in no mood to deal with anybody being pissy....besides me :D haha
