Surely there's another venue to play at over there?
Why not use a stadium? They're using Subiaco in Perth

And the Rock is too obssessed with U2.

You know what. I'm pissed off. Because Pearl Jam has allowed these rumours to start. The tour brochure, Joey meeting then in Toronto. If they intend to get down here why doesn't managment look at other options. Western Springs, Ericsson? Why the hell are they so damn fussy when it comes to venues down here yet they play Stadiums and outdoor arenas in the US and Europe. It's all bullshit excuses.

    bullshit, total bullshit
  • Hey guys,

I thought i should put in my 2 cents worth...

    WTF?!
Scott, still gotta give credit to you... youve been chasing this from the moment go,
Im very dissapointed... I dont know weather to say this is the bands fault (because there are obviously other alternatives for venues) or if its Vector Arena's fault???
Im going with Vectors, but if the band wanted to come here... at least do a 10c show... and to bring up the numbers... do it at the St James... and invite the Auzzie 10C members...
    Soley a 10C show...Wouldnt that be awesome?!?
Id still feel stink for the other kiwis who arnt members though... but they should have thought of that.....

    Anyhow....
    I havent lost all hope...

Heres what i think we should do...
    Everyone should do the following...

    Write an email message to...
    -10 Club
    -NZ Herald
    -Vector Arena's
    -The Rock

All in the same email... --- so CC the other parties in...

And just say how we were chasing this from the beginnning,
And how disgusted we are at these shows not happening.
Based on our fact that we have of course..
This has been a team effort guys, and it will finish a team effort...

    The Email addresses are

    info@tenclub.net The Ten Club
    info@vectorarena.co.nz Vector Arena
brad@therock.net.nz Thats the only rock email addy i can find?

As for the NZ herald... i Cant find a address.. but if we can somehow get the message to them.,,, theyll make a story about it... ???

Aparrently PJ is opening for U2 in Hawaii???
So the only dates that are left out now.. are the New Zealand dates...??

Any other suggestions.... Add em on

    Joey

Sounds like a good idea, even just to let them know our EXTREME dissapointment. Should include comments about the fierce loyalty of PJ fans. I am willing to contribute to the email. But who want's to co-ordinate the contributions/sending?

    nothing.......:(
  • Count me in on that email. Got our hopes up for nothing.

I am off to throw my toys....
  • This is bullshit. Its too late to get decent seats at a reasonable price for Australia for anyone, and this is gonna fuck over so many people.
An email wont change anything, but id still want in on it. I dont see the point of the Herald being in on it though, they just write what people tell them. I suppose if you want them to write about how poor this has been, then thats not a bad yell.
Good news for people selling tickets to Aussie though. Man this is so frustrating, the band can be too precious at times. I agree Brendan, they put our name on the tour schedule in that booklet, and they're playing stadiums and GA in Europe.
Its been 8 years, but I still believe...PJ in NZ 06!

DON'T LAUGH, but this is what i wrote to 10C

    Hey Guys

    Well,

its possible you've had a few e-mails from a few 'gutted' NZ'ers about rumours goiung around that while Pearl Jam had not entirely confirmed their tour here, they will in fact not be coming, due to the Vector Arena being delayed.

I too am pretty sad about the 'news', but, if true, i do know its beyond our control....

however, this said, there are alternate venues. Not necessarily arenas, but still, other venues. And there is life beyond Auckland. As people like to plug their hometown, i mays well give it a shot. I Live in New Plymouth, NZ. and we have a place here called the Bowl of Brooklands, where this summer we had god knows how many bands, including Stevie Nicks, and last summer REM and Mark Knopfler.

Heres where you can check it out...

    http://www.newplymouthnz.com/VisitingNewPlymouth/EventVenues/TSBBowlOfBrooklands.htm

I know its a long shot, but just maybe.

Give me a yell if you like,

    +64 ** *** **** (cell)
    +64 6 *** **** (home)

thanks for listening, i dont know who this will reach, if if it could be passed on to the appropriate hands. Let PJ know we want them here!!!!! :-)

    thanks
