How come there is never any discussion on wether or not Clemens has ever been on the juice?
I find this very strange. I mean...has there ever been another power pitcher in major league history who has had more longevity then Clemens? or kept that power...for soo long?
He is also very jacked...which is unlike most pitchers body type's. He is bigger then he was when he was a rookie by a lot! He also basically had a 'Roid Rage against Mike Piazza during the world series. (He hits Piazza in the head w/ a pitch earlier in the year....then when Piazza fouls a ball off...and breaks his bat...Clemens...litterally picks up the bat and throws the shard at Piazza) I've never even heard of a player doing that to another player on a foul ball. - EVER..any player.....(i guess a foul ball just isn't considered as a purposefully aggressive act - go figure)

I mean...there certainly are a lot of guys taking heat for supposedly doing steriods....

I think it is a joke that Clemens' name never comes up in this debate. I am supposed to believe he just has a better training regimine then the rest of baseball over the last 20+ years..(EVERYBODY???)...yeah right! The guy is probably the biggest juicer of them all. and they say the biggest thing 'Roids help with is recovery......Hmmm.... *scratches head*

the guy's penalty??? only 1 million dollars a start! PLEASE.....

Are you accusing him before nothing has ever been found out about him? I'll reserve judgement till evidence comes out that he's been on juice all these years

I'm absolutely accusing him w/o any evidence whatsoever!

Nolan Ryan was still bringing smoke at 46 and beating Robin Ventura along the way.

    I dunno....

I remember seeing a bit on TV probably 10+ years ago about his intense off-season workouts. If he has been that dedicated during all of his career, I can see how he is in the shape that he is at his age...

Thats unbelievably ridiculous. Yeah his numbers are definitely odd and unusual. If it came out that he took steroids than i'd be one of the first to boo at him. You can't throw the guy in jail and lock the key w/o even having a trial though ;)

I'm not sure if you are trying to compare this to the Barry Bonds situation and how everyone accuses him of doing hgh and everything or not. If you are though, these are two totally different situations.

Umm, ever heard of Nolan Ryan? Nolan pitched a no hitter at the age of 44 (his last of 7). He had a very similar body to Clemens.

Also, I actually have heard Clemens' name brought up in many a steroid discussion...the problem is nobody within baseball has accused him...Canseco went out of his way to name McGwire & Sosa. Palmeiro and Giambi tested positive...

Athletes work out year round...they will get bigger than they were in their late teens & early 20s...aren't you?

I have heard his name come up. More than any other pitcher infact.

What I think is a joke is how many people are accused of using roids with nothing to back up the accusations other than being a successful baseball player. The whole roid discussion has become a bore, and I hope it blows over soon.

When he tests positive for something, then maybe I'll care.

that is a fricken great picture!!!!

Nolan is the only guy who can discount my theory though. Doesn't explain the Piazza 'Roid Rage incident of 2000 though.

Where have people seen his name brought up? any articles to offer? cause that is why i made the post...w/ the host of names thrown around...i personally have never seen Clemens name put into those discussions.

Also...besides Nolan Ryan...does anyone else have a name of a power pitcher who's pitched that long...and soo successfully?

in the history of baseball...is there only two players?

Randy Johnson will be 44 and is 18 wins from 300. He should get there by next season.

Truthfully I haven't read any speculation in any article because real writers require some slim margin of PROOF, or they get fired!! But amongst some of my bone head beer guzzling boys nights out, whenever Bonds and co comes up, someone always brings up the pitchers, namely Clemens. I think I may have heard some mild speculation on 'Pardon the interuption' but I can't be certain.

As for pegging Piazza, I mean, Pedro, who weighs in at like 72 lbs, has hit more ballplayers than Clemens and in a much shorter career...is that roid rage as well? Maybe he'd only weigh 50 lbs without the juice....

Why stop at baseball? You might as well through Favre, Shaq, Chelios, and a ton of other outstanding elderlies in there. How'd Cal Ripken play so many games in a row...hmm must have been roids

I believe Satchel Paige was pitching well into his 40s and blowing people away... Different era, but still.

Anyway, Clemens is among the all time greats. Could be natural, or it could be steroids, but until the guy tests positive, I think it doesn't make much sense to claim that he is on steroids. Let's face it, it's obvious that you won't be throwing 98 mph when you're 44, nor will I. But out of the millions that play this game, a small percentage get to do it professionally, a small percentage of them are great, and of the great ones, a small percentage are hall of famers. Why can't Clemens be among the best of the best and the most durable ever? His workout regimen backs him up. These days, he doesn't even have to travel with the team (which is BULLSHIT), but that gives him more rest than any other pitcher in history. Also, it remains to be seen whether he can handle AL Batting again-- He might come back and suck, and where will the roids talk be then? Anyway I hope he can produce, I'm a Yankee fan, after all.

So are we going to bring up roid-rage when any athlete in a emotionally charged situation does something overly aggressive and stupid... Hell, players flip out every week in the NFL and those guys get tested.

LOL! You just brought it all back to me. It is kinda true....I mean, Pedro has always pegged guys for crowding....That Clemens display was disgusting and seemingly totally out of character for a guy we all respected so much...

Maybe you're on to something...now all u need is some Clemens pee in a bottle, vintage 2000!!
