2 rumors floating around today, could be nothing to them, but there still fun to discuss

Red Sox, Braves, and a mystery team working on a deal that sends Teixeira to the Sox and Manny to the Braves who then flip Manny to the mystery team for prospects

Mets send Beltran to the Sox for Manny and Ellsbury

I doubt either are likely. The Braves could probably get more for teixeira than for Manny, unless the Sox are send ing a prospect or 2 with Manny who the Braves would keep.

    i doubt manny or ellsbury goes anywhere. i doubt that manny will not be with us next april. the sox are looking for bullpen.

    if teixeira goes anywhere, its arizona.

    I think Teixeira ends up with the Angels

    As for Manny Boston wiill not pick up his option next year, he'll sign with another team for less money

    The Yanks will probably end up with Washburn


    EDIT: I dont get why some in Boston cant stand Manny, I mean you've won 2 world series titles, you'll miss him if he goes and Ortiz will be less effective, as Manny provides tons of protection for him

    I would absolutely love Manny on the Braves, but it won't happen. I'm guessing he stays on the team until the end of the season.

    I agree and I am not a Sox fan. But I love Manny.

    Manny's not going anywhere ... but if he does, it'll be the Dodgers in a three team trade with the Braves. Sox will get Texeira, Braves will get a host of minor leaguers.

    at this point 1 month ago, I would have been thrilled to think AJ was going to be traded, but now, I am happy if he stays, though our douchebag of a GM gave him this opt out clause in the contract after the 3rd year of the 5 year deal, so pretty much it's assumed he will use that clause and be a FA this off-season, but with McGowan having shoulder surgery, our starting rotation will look rather weak going into 2009 if Burnett is traded or leaves via FA than it started 2008 looking

    Plus, I think most Jays fans, including I, would rather have the 2 sandwich picks in the 2009 draft from Burnett leaving via FA than if traded, unless we get some highly strong players in return

    hopefully the Braves get good, young minor league prospects in any deal involving Tex

    other than Tex, Jurrjens, McCann, and Escobar the Braves roster is:
    a) old
    b) injured
    c) ineffective
    d) any combination (or all) of the above


    since they won't be able to re-sign him, they might as well get the best deal they can

    The Sox are talking deal with LA, so we'll see. Manny may be gone this time.

    what a great pickup for the Angels. I hope this Marek guy is a real prospect, or the Braves would have been better with the 2 draft picks they would get if thye kept him and he signed elsewhere

    A 2004 40th round pick, pitching in the pen in AA...basically a scrub.
    Braves would have been better off with the picks methinks.
