Now if they were part of Dharma, that would explain why they had the gas masks after what happened to Dharma after the Purge and why they are looking for Ben.
my first reaction when they said they were looking for ben was dharma initiative people coming back for revenge.

Definitely loved the Benry and Locke reaction to Hurley saying the shack was over there.
agreed. and the fact locke was so shocked is further proof it wasn't his eyeball that popped up when hurley was looking in the shack.

    About the Wreckage

Whose body was found in the Sunda Trench and identified as Seth Norris?

Where did the wreckage in the ocean come from?

    About Ben

Why are they searching for Ben?

Who is Ben's "man on their boat"?

Why did Ben announce he had a man on the boat in front of Charlotte Lewis?

Where did the newcomers get a picture of adult Ben if he has been on the island since he was a child?

    Other

How did the polar bear get to Tunisia?

When was the wreckage found in the Sunda Trench?

When did the meeting between Matthew and Naomi take place?

How were Daniel, Miles, Charlotte, Frank and Naomi selected for the operation?

Why was Frank Lapidus replaced as pilot of flight 815?

Why did the Freighter team bring gas masks?

Why couldn't Minkowski take the team's call?

Why did Daniel, Miles, Charlotte, Frank, and Naomi know something about 815 survivors?

Why did Matthew Abbadon meet Naomi in an empty building to discuss the mission?

Why did Naomi think there would be survivors of flight 815 on the Island?

Why did Naomi tell the 815 survivors anything about the plane found in the ocean?

If the freighter team was looking for Ben Linus, why did Naomi say she was looking for Desmond?

Why was Charlotte wearing a bullet-proof vest?

What was the machine Miles was using in the bedroom?

    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

    trivia

Frank's flashback takes place in 2004, as evidenced by the "2004 Map & Activities Brochure" located on top of his television.

The Oceanic Airlines Flight 815 Hotline Number 1-888-548-0034 is seen on Frank's television. Calling this number results in an automated message, not a human operator as seen on the show.

The helicopter's number, N842M, would make it registered in the USA.

Charlotte's name: Charlotte Staples Lewis, is a reference to Clive Staples Lewis (commonly referred to as C.S. Lewis), author of the Chronicles of Narnia.

Michael Faraday was an English chemist and physicist who contributed to electromagnetism as a field of study. From Wikipedia: "He established that magnetism could affect rays of light and that there was an underlying relationship between the two phenomena." In this episode, Faraday comments on abnormalities in the light rays on the island.

The name Minkowski is a reference to Hermann Minkowski, the mathematician who pioneered the idea of 4-dimensional space-time.

The name Lapidus may be a reference to the movie Sleeper, in which one character says "Then I would talk like Mr. Lapidus, who got hit by lightning." Sleeper is about a man who wakes up after being frozen in liquid nitrogen for 200 years. "Lapidus," literally translated from Hebrew, means "candles," or "torches."

i also thought that it was awesome the bullet went through locke and he's alive because he's missing that kidney.

also, surprised no one mentioned that in the preview for next week hurley is in the helicopter with miles.

    Morning!!!

ok so after the show my boyfriend and i went through everything.. so this is from both of us. all just speculation of course...

soooo we have these 4. one can read the dead, one has emotional ties to things and is very intuative, one is a dharma junkie and one was supposed to fly the plane.. that kind of sounds like a suicide mission. if Abbadon was sending them there, and he seems to want to make sure hurley shuts up about the island.. why would he send those 4... i dont think he sent them to figure things out.. he sent them there to be "lost" as well maybe. i guess he didnt account for the helicopter to be saved.

also we were discussing ben and how he knows everything and he said he has someone on the freighter.. everyone with me now... MICHAEL. makes sense no? and that could further lead to him being the one in the casket later on... he was a traitor.. who knows why yet.. but there must have been a reason... ben sent him off the island and on to that boat. ahhh brilliance.. that was all my boyfriend... hes smart.

so it was an excellent one last night. it really did give us insight to whats going on. as for ben he is probably stuck between two companies... one that wants to blow the island wide open and one that wants to keep it a secret. he is the go to man so he is in the midst...

ok must do work.. but had to get that out

Perhaps when Abbadon says to Hurley in episode 1, "Are they still alive?", he's referring to the 4 from the helicoptor.

just listening to the mmr talk about it. they pointed out that the new pilot was a haggard mess by the time they discovered the plane in the ocean. so the question was what kind of time elapsed that made him go from a pilot that was supposed to fly oceanic 815 to this alcoholic beach bum...

I'm curious to see who this Minkowski (sp) guy is who apparently is running things on the freighter.

Pretty sure his character is played by Fisher Stevens. I saw his name in the credits on the replay of last weeks episode, and then when you hear Jack talking to him on the walkie you can definitely tell its his voice. I kind of want him to be Ben's spy, or Michael would be cool. But it sure as shit better not be Mikhail! That fucking guy always pops up somewhere after you think he's dead.

When they first showed Miles go to the house and up to that kid's room, I thought he was going to vacuum something, so my wife said he must be a ghost buster jokingly. Turned out to be pretty dead on. BUT, anyone else notice the picture of the boy who died on the wall? I swear its a dead ringer for Eko as a boy. HD Screencap anyone? :)

ok the first 2 questions were the ones i was thinking of last night. i have no idea about the gas masks... the only reason i could come up with is they heard about Ben's hijinks with the dharma group and they wanted to be prepared??

i feel like minkowski was ignoring the call because he was hoping they were already dead or lost communication.. i dont know but i fuond that odd too..

and the last one.. do you think that maybe ben told whomever that he has flight 815 on his island.. and he is using that as bait and bribing.. oceanic covered up but he has the real truth... i dunno.. just guesses
  • Even before last nights episode, I said the "not Penny's boat" would be the rest of the Dharma Init. But then I started thinking last night, why would Dharma be hunting Ben but drop off payloads of food on the crate......and why couldn't they sneak someone on that, someone must be able to find the island.
