So it's Patriots = footy, Red Sox = baseball (which I knew but all the other names confused me! :D ) Celtics = Basketball and Bruins = Hockey?

Of course I'll have forgotten that again soon enough. :o

It's funny how things happen, some we respond to and some things we don't. That's why I think it's not just about someone's actions or inaction, it's also about the circumstances and the universe itself. Energy or something?
I'm sure there have been times when things have gone on that I would have no clue about because I was otherwise engrossed in something so I just didn't notice. But then it probably wasn't sport! ;):D

All Boston area teams. Yes I know what you where i didn't notice my surroundings because I was tied up literally! :)

All you need to know is that the Minnesota Twins are America's Team.

And the Minnesota Vikings are making a run that is improbable, but true.

But I love my family, I love my friends and I even love random strangers.
If I can help someone out I will. Sometimes I've done it and wondered what on earth possessed me to put myself in that kind of situation but I've done it. Stupid but a split second decision. Luckily for me I've mostly managed to get in and out of a situation without too much trouble, depending on how you judge the outcome. And that's the problem I see here. If I'm not in the situation who the hell am I to judge what someone else did? I'm not them. I can look at the outcome and go yeah, well that probably wasn't a very good thing, but I'm not there or them. It's easy to judge shit after the event.

But if you're handing out cabbage patch kids, can I have one? Please?? Can I? I had a deprived childhood! ;):D

According to the report that leads this topic, the woman who killed to live was living in a high crime neighborhood.

According to what I've read of the instance of the man defending his neighbor's well-being, he gave a warning to the suspects to stop before firing upon the suspects.

I don't see either scenario as "great places to live" at those moments, however, I stand by the rights of those citizens who made a stand with the use of the available tools of defense in that moment.

re:great place to live. guess i forgot the big big smilie face to show my sarcasm. :D:p

and you know what? i dont care if he yelled out a warning before he shot gue. he killed them for no reason that you could ever justify to me.

    Alright.
Everything you find of material and sentimental value is lost, cuz your neighbor just watches and finds it interesting that strangers might be raping you and your kids and running out the door with your possessions, no questions asked. ah hell, why not call the cops, they may fix it. they're cops, they can kill legally.

    no problem.

    right.

are we even talking about the same thing here gue? who said anything about letting your neighbours being raped? or your neighbours watching your family being raped? im talking about shooting burglars to death . material possessions mean nothing to me. i am not into things that much that i would weep for their loss. or find it necessary to murder someone over them. and i didnt mention allowing burglars to get away no questions asked. sure by all means approach them if you feel it is safe to do so. sure by all means yell out hey you bastards what the fuck are you doing with tony's stereo? whilst slowly walking towards them. but please don't feel it necessary to take another's life for a possession.

    But...
who was in the house during the theft?
    Anyone?
    Your kid's best friend?
How was this guy to know?
There is no way in hell this guy was in the wrong. He gave fair warning to the thieves.

  • If the powers that be want to solve the population and crime problem in one fell swoop, all they have to do is invent, and hand out some of the those star trek phasers...*poof*...disappear.

They could even get Shatner to do the ads.
Progress is not made by everyone joining some new fad,

Q: what do you mean by that?
A: I think some people in their ideals and their political agendas obscure a definitive reality on some subjects.
    Q: Like this one?
A: maybe not so much this one, but you find the contradiction. especially when i brought up the neighbor shooting. everyone against the shooting seems to assume the guy knew beyond a doubt that this was just stupid burglars.
Q: but, isn't that the indication of all said reports?
A: maybe so, but he did try to make an arrest, he did spend a lot of time on the phone to the ems...
    Q: worth killing?
A: i think he was a damn good neighbor. period.
