That's why I prefer the more liberal attitudes of the Church of England , over these more conservative , reactionary faiths .
Worship God , don't judge others ,try and be loving and considerate to all , and let God decide what He thinks is right and wrong .

Simons said the church believes homosexuality is a sin, but it would have appeared to endorse that lifestyle if the service had been held there.
So they only do funerals for those that are free from sin? I guess that leaves them with an awful lot of spare time.

Am I to believe they've never done a funeral for a fornicator, a covetor, one who didn't make the sabbath holy?

Why is it shocking that a church would be narrow minded and exclusive? Exclusivity is the name of the game with organized religion isn't it?

It isn't to me. I just wonder why it is "news".

Well, you're the only one who said it was shocking. Does news have to be shocking to be news?

If you want to sell advertising it does.

So, in your mind, the aim of the church was to enable the media to shock its readers sufficiently enough to sell advertising?

    Whew.

I'm pretty sure there's a "god", but I fucking hate religion. Fuck it!

    i second that....

when my dad was a pastor there was a woman who had aids that was contracted by her cheating husband... when she passed away, my father held her funeral at our small building where we had "church". apparently, her family were from another denomination... don't know which, but they didn't want to hold her funeral for similar reasons. so my father allowed an entire group probably 300-400 guests in a building that was meant for only 100 or so.
This isn't the land of opportunity, it's the land of competition.

Same thing I was thinking. It's highly hypocritical.
The only people we should try to get even with...
    ...are those who've helped us.

Whew, indeed. It must be exhausting trying to chase your mind around. You can fixate on a single word and then follow around a stream of consciousness to see where it leads you. Good luck with that.

Which is exactly why he had the bible written to express what his thoughts on right and wrong were as well as how he wanted to be worshiped. Good thing too because he knew that humans would mess it up and argue amongst one another unless he left directions.
Makes much more sense, to live in the present tense.

A truly liberal person is conservative when necessary.

Whew! Good thing he left those directions! I guess that's why no one in the world argues about spiritual matters, because he made it all so crystal clear.

    Coherent logic needs no luck.

actually you missed the sardonic undertone to "humans would mess it up and argue amongst one another"....but these things are frequently lost on you...

anyways, the bible is pretty clear actually on a variety of subjects. Try actually opening one and reading it....you might be suprised at what you find. That way, you won't have to worry about someone tainting your mind...ooooooooooooooo it's all a conspiracy to brainwash you and control every second of every moment regarding every thought or action in your life oooooooooooooo :o

Individuality has nothing to do with the bible. The conformity you preach sure does.

    Get lost.
