Huckabee On The Move

farfromglorified wrote:He stands for funding anti-abortion education on the federal level and eliminating federal funding for facilities that perform abortions, all the while professing that the abortion decisions should be made at the state level. That makes him objectively contradictory and, in my opinion, an idiot.
He says that he's "pro-life" and that he's "not going to be reticent about supporting laws that would help us to preserve human life", yet he loves the death penalty and seems to really dig killing Arabs. Again, objectively contradictory and, in my opinion, quite foolish.
Huckabee has stated that he wants creationism taught in schools and that he "does not necessarily buy into the traditional Darwinian theory". This is at least not necessarily contradictory, but again seems to be slightly moronic.
Finally, Huckabee is a tax-raiser and wanton spender, if his tenure in Arkansas is any indication.
No, I'm not. I didn't like Clinton and I don't like Bush. Combining them into one super-candidate doesn't strike me as a very good idea.

I'm certainly for eliminating Federal funding for abortion clinics. I'm not for replacing that with Federal funding for anti-abortion "education". I'm for abortion-related decisions being made on the state level. I'm for states hopefully realizing that abortion is, for better or worse, an individual choice best made by the women in question.
I'm firmly against the death penalty, as I like to consider myself better than a murderer. I do not believe in creationism, as one cannot believe in creationism without suggesting that evidence has no bearing on conclusion. Similarly, I will not say that creationism is wrong, as I I have no evidence that firmly disproves it. I do believe in evolution, as there is much evidentiary support for it as a theory. That said, I'm quite sure there are many mysteries in this universe that man does not understand.
I do not believe in taxing people against their will, nor do I believe it to be wise to increase governmental spending at rates greater than incomes.
Perhaps most importantly, I do not believe that anyone, of any political persuasion, will find a correct answer in a contradiction.
That's what I believe, vis a vis the issues at hand.0 -
i respect the fact that those are your beliefs, i don't share them.

Nobody called Huckabee "guilty."

Of course you don't. But only one of us is willing to impose their beliefs on the other at the point of a gun.but if huckabee is guilty for supporting what he believes in, then why shouldn't you be?
Huckabee is not "guilty for supporting what he believes in". Supporting what you believe in is not a crime, nor is it something anyone should be ashamed of.
Mike Huckabee is simply guilty of professing a host of contradictions and calling them facts or morals. And he's proposing pushing those contradictions on everyone. That's what he's guilty of.0 -

I would say "misguided" before I would say "guilty."
Just me. He actually seems somewhat sincere about what he speaks.
I mean, he isn't sincere to the public in the realistic sense, but he thinks he is.

Sincerity has absolutely no relevance to guilt or innocence.0 -

The attorney general does that, at least on the federal level.

But, guilt (or innocence) is a judgement call. You can perceive a candidate on merits, but I don't think you can judge a candidate of guilt or innocence, unless of course a crime has been committed.
Guilt seems a heavy word for what you're saying.
Again, just me. A language usage thing.
