Cheap, my man, cheap.............that is the main advantage. Cheap to buy, cheap to maintain and the parts are cheap. The availability is also an important factor.macgyver06 wrote:The Ak is unreliable..it gets hot to the point you cant pick it up becasue its gas powered...its not very accurate...its dangerous to! these things explode in your hand in sustained fire..
but its bullets are the size of your mom..thats the only advantage which isnt anything nowadays..
Danger is an accepted factor in war.All the world will be your enemy, Prince with a thousand enemies, and whenever they catch you, they will kill you. But first they must catch you, digger, listener, runner, prince with the swift warning. Be cunning and full of tricks and your people shall never be destroyed.0

again, how about a 31 year old?
wouldnt you be more confident in knowing your 18 year old was out there then 12? the mental and physical matureness is 10 fold. not in all cases, but most.
forced to let others look out for you? what the hell does that mean? 18 year old can look out for themselves MUCH better then 12. that is a fact.
Well, if they both die.. the 18 year old would have expeience much more dread than the 12 year old..
comparing them is useless.... War sucks - for everyone.0

 FOREVER MISINFORMED!! and loving it!!
lets not actually try and figure out why its ok to get shot by an 18 yr old but not a 12 yr old
It's never ok to be shot by anyone, but there is a difference between an adult, because that's what 18 year olds are, voluteering to join an army and a 12 year old being kidnapped and being forced to be in an army. Now if you are to fucking stupid to tell the difference then there is no use in trying to have an intelligent conversation with you. I didn't start this thread so simplistic morons like you could come on here and turn this into another US bash-fest. no there isnt! in fact it makes more sense to send 12 year olds in war really..you can probaly train them faster as far as getting them ready to be trained killers.
this is based that they are vulnerable and that teaching them war could in fact be....all that they know.
jlew..it is war. I hope these tactics aren't new to you...and if its shocking to see a 12 year old soldier well than how crazy would it be to have a 14 yr old king...or queen...
NOT THAT CRAZY when talking about something thats crazy to begin with.0

He actually has a point with this argument......our distaste for 12 year old soldiers is a cultural bias. We also think that arranged marriages and 12 &13 year olds getting married and making babies is a bad thing. Those are not universal standards nor is an agreed upon age of conscription. These are dirty little wars...........and in dirty little wars, many of our western morals get tossed out the window (if the western moral values were even there in the first place.).macgyver06 wrote:no there isnt! in fact it makes more sense to send 12 year olds in war really..you can probaly train them faster as far as getting them ready to be trained killers.

holy cow! who is bashing the U.S.?? who is bashing the U.S.??
the first post i made..i just wanted to get across...that you really shouldnt be shocked by this...of course it is wrong..but when you are born into a situation i think thats hostile and poor from day one and your told how people have it better than you..
theres something more here..i cant really put into words...but warlords/generals of any nation that are fixated on war and destruction use whatever means necessaary to win battles...unfortunately these weapons come witha childs face.. its war and they are all crazy...not just warlords..
don't neglect our craziness in thinking its ok what we are doing...thats all im saying...no one is right..and i hate seeing articles like this because it sidetracks peoples minds i believe...
war is evil. its chapters and weapons of any kind are within the term WAR.
WAR...we are at war...we can end it tomorrow.0

in vietnam we had baby soldiers. babies were booby-trapped and left for americans to rescue. then killed by the explosion. most arms are made overseas now. isreal makes the best. starting with the uzi. for other arms; the parts are made overseas and possibly assembled here. we may have the technology; but others profit from the manufacture.0

I'm sure arms from every country are being sold across the globe. I didn't start this thread to debate which country sells the most small arms and to whom. I saw a sad and disturbing article and thought I would share it with the rest of the Train."When one gets in bed with government, one must expect the diseases it spreads." - Ron Paul0

Thank you for posting the article......."children soldiers" are something that we as species can't seem to get away from........we see this time and again in underdeveloped nation-states. Was it in Cambodia or Laos where the two teenage boys were the head of a militant group in the country's hinterlands?mammasan wrote:I'm sure arms from every country are being sold across the globe.
