    Great assessment. The majority of the Iranian population want a more westernized democratic society. By engaging in hostile actions towards Iran we could very well be squandering the support we have there amongst the people.

    once again, the leaders....i somewhat agree with the assessment also.

    but if they don't overthrow their gov't, what can we do?

    we have to deal with who's in charge....

    overthrowing the government??? are you nuts? thats not our job. its the people of Iran who make that decision. and with a young open minded educated public, democracy and freedom has a chance there.

    but if we force them too, we have a risk of creating a whole new generation of people who hate us.

    The cycle has to stop somewhere. Vowing to hunt down every terrorist in the world is not only impossible, but I'm puzzled as to how the media even sold everyone this nonsensical idea.

    It's human nature 101. Call and treat someone like your enemy every day and they will become your enemy. It's 100%. You know the saying you only get out what you put in...yada yada.. what goes around comes around...etc. etc..

    Vowing to hunt down and destroy a tactic is crazy talk. Vowing to make a fresh positive start is going somewhere.

    I personally question the intention of those in power, because you know they know this but constantly choose to ignore it.

    As long as it is just words we do nothing. We have no proof that they are weaponizing their nuclear program, in fact all the evidence points to the reality that they are not. Now that doesn't mean that we should completely trust them. Keep monitoring them and refrain from all the military options talk. All we are doing is playing right into his hands. Amedinajhad popularity is just about as bad as Bush's popularity is here. An outside threat is exactly what he needs to foster support for him and we are stupid enough to provide that for him. Stop threatening Iran so the focus is taken off of us and placed back on him in his own country.

    Then we take the necessary actions. We will know well before he is capable of attacking us or anyone else wether he has the means to or not. Remember they would need to test a delivery system and it would be at that point that his intentions would be unveiled.

    Exactly. I would be playing kill them with kindness to either surface the real problem, or (god forbid) actually see eye to eye and make amends.

    If Bush really is a god fearing man of international greatness, he should really start acting like it, and put the ball back in Iran's court and call them on their word. Is kindness and patience now dead in US politics regardless of intent? Is it all just threats and violence now? Take everything they (Iran) has to say at face value and make them live up to their own words in the international community.

    What's the big deal? Where is everyone going in such a hurry?

    Well as far as him saying Israel should be destroyed, so fucking what. It just words and until he can't back that up with actions so let him spout his shit off. Secondly we support terrorism so who the fuck are we to talk. If we want to throw stones maybe we should move out of glass house first.

    Russia would never in a million years provide Iran with a delivery system for a nuclear weapon. They know that those missles could easily be pointed at them.
