That would (obviously) depend on the amount of coverage the story gets.Progress is not made by everyone joining some new fad,
and reveling in it's loyalty. It's made by forming coalitions
over specific principles, goals, and policies.

chiquimonkey wrote:sure the LAPD has been guilty of racism. but that's apart from the fact that he killed two people. and he shouldn't have been acquitted in the criminal case because of that technicality.
and all those people who cheered him on, saying he was being framed because of his race...you think *he'd* hang out with black people? no....he'd just hang out with *rich* people. that situation was about money, not race, and that's what got him free.
so now, fast forward to the present...even if double jeopardy exists in the judicial system, i'm more interested in karma, and because of that i hope he ends up in jail the rest of his life.
the jurys job was to look at the evidence. if they found evidence that suggested he was guilty they should have convicted him, if reasonable doubt existed they should have aquited.
reasonable doubt in the murder case EXISTED. reguardless of your feelings of his guilt.
if johnny cochoran made up the race issue out of thin air thats one thing.
but the people handling the DNA evidence did a HORRIFIC job of it, and the lead investigator was a person who committed perjury only to be revealed to be a racist liar.
what was the jury supposed to think?
Its one thing to say "these guys are capable of framing people" and not give an example. These are people who perjured themselves on the stand, who commited CRIMES themselves.
How much time in the clinker should that idiot get who took the blood evidence home? Think he served any time at all?
murder is wrong. No doubt. But so is mishandling and currupting evidence.
the reason oj isnt in jail, isnt because the jury was a bunch of bumbling idiots. Its because they were the opposite, highly alert, literate, citizens who looked at the evidence carefully.
Thats the way things go. The LAPD shouldnt have had high ranking racist members and shouldnt have had currupt pigs who take evidence home, if they wanted oj put in jail. They framed a guilty man.
How about Fung. He didnt collect all the DNA, but absurdly said he went back "WEEKS LATER" to get them.
if that doesnt alert someone of a red flag, I dont know what will.
Fung collects evidence WEEKS LATER. I mean give me a goddamn break. This is the goddamn keystone cops.
Who found all the DNA? Wasn't it Furhman. Red flag number two. A perjured member of the LAPD, a racist. Found all the DNA.0 -
oh and by what measure did Fung get the DNA collected?
Anyone, anyone??????
He used gloves right.
EHHHHH!
He picked them up bare handed.
Again, my keystone cops reference should be making more sense right now.
What police structure, has a lead investigator collect all the DNA, lie on stand, come out of the closet as a racist, then fung collects evidence bare handed,
then Van Atter takes the DNA home.
I am surprised the jury didnt convict the cops instead.0 -
Question: Did you watch it on TV when it happened?Progress is not made by everyone joining some new fad,

If you watched it unfold day after day on TV you would know deep down what happened and how it went. The coverage was unprecedented.
His money, his fame, and the media involvement/effect , somehow bought him his freedom.
Sad to think he freaked out, but he somehow did.Progress is not made by everyone joining some new fad,

That's how he got off
and the Bronco chase?! Man oh man.
there was an article in today's Post that he threatened this guy who did work on his house in Miami b/c he thought his current gf was cheating on him with the guy!

I think they framed a guilty man.
all the evidence suggests that both are what happened.
I wouldnt put it above OJ to murder someone. And I wouldnt put it above the LAPD especially near the time of the LA riots to be OVERTLY racist and unruly in their pursuit of crime
to me thats the best answer for the case. They framed a guilty man. This is for the murder case at least.
And it looks like he could have been framed again, or at least the victim of entrapment
let me get this straight... you think OJ was guilty and murdered both those people, AND you think he was framed?0 -

oh my poor knicks.
But to give the people that were too young an idea of exactly how the scene played out:
People were on their feet in the bar (not me) yelling "Go OJ!!!!! Go!" All the time laughing and slapping each other on the back. OJ was outrunning the fuzz. It was a hoot.Cause I'm broken when I'm lonesome
And I don't feel right when you're gone away0 -

I actually agree with that. Mark Furman is an idiot and he planted evidence. The entire prosecution for that case are idiots.
They have a guy, leaving a scene flying around with his bloody hand in a bag, blood all over his bronco...guilty as hell and they have Mark Furman planting evidence in his back yard, and the guilty party trying on gloves in the court room that are the wrong size or had shrunk. Why was Furman even walking around in his back yard with bloody gloves when they didn't need it?
Was he guilty... hell yes. Did the prosecution and the LAPD expose thier stupidity... hell yes. OJ proved yet again that he is an idiot by rounding up thugs at a bar and conducting a "sting" operation to get his stuff, clearly he's a sociopath, clearly he's a murderer but I don't disagree with the jury in the first case because Mark Furman the LAPD and the Prosecution completely botched the shit out of an open and shut murder case.
Johnny Cochran was brilliant, the prosecution were pathetic and sad.My Girlfriend said to me..."How many guitars do you need?" and I replied...."How many pairs of shoes do you need?" She got really quiet.0 -

Pffft. The jury chose politics over justice. They feared retribution in their hometown,

A gun pointed at yourself while your friend drives you at 5mph down an LA highway dosen't really point to a distraught figure who just found his wife and "some guy" covered in blood on your own property. You've changed your place in this world!0

So... Armed Robbery and holding people in a room against their will should not result in jail time?0

i don't know if that counts as framing. i think inherent in framing is an innocent "cuplrit." that sounds like abuse of power and planting evidence. yeah, the prosecution fucked up big time. none of that evidence should have ever made it to court (did it?). and legally, the jury was potentially right to acquit him. but this proves only that an dumb ass cop fucked up and a rich guy was able to hire the guns to exploit it. it hardly proves that OJ is innocent and that anyone who thinks he's a scumbag is racist, as che is implying.0
