I know I'm going to sound like a broken record but we completely fucked up in Afghanistan. We did the job half-assed because this administration had it's eyes on Iraq and never really gave it a 100% effort in Afghanistan."When one gets in bed with government, one must expect the diseases it spreads." - Ron Paul0 -

well I dont know. we did take the taliban out of power and put el queda on the run. Iraq was definitely a distraction but I dont know what we could have done in pakistan short of an all out invasion.0 -

We did take the Taliban out of power and put Al Qaida on the run but we failed to close the deal. We outsourced an important part of the mission and that was to capture Bin Laden. We didn't leave the necessary troops in place to successfully secure the country and completely dismantle the Taliban."When one gets in bed with government, one must expect the diseases it spreads." - Ron Paul0 -
When I become President, atleast I'll know where to find my Secretary of Defense."Sarcasm: intellect on the offensive"

OK, Iraq is what 20-25 million people? And Iran looks tough to handle with 70 million. Pakistan is 170 million people. That's another ball-game entirely. You'd require at least the draft back to get anywhere close to anough personnel...

One day we will realize that it is ignorant to focus on "Terrorists".
A. Noone is a "Terrorist"
B. Terrorism will be far less effective when nations work together.
Out policy has been and continues to be one of division and hatred...

The Iraqi military was soundly defeated in roughly 1 month. Iran was unable to accomplish this over a period of 8 years."Sarcasm: intellect on the offensive"

invading pakistan is obviously not an option. but we arent really going after pakistan. its the tribal areas that border afgahistan that is the problem. these areas shouldnt ever be considered part of pakistan.0 -

Terrorism is just the convenient term for the fallout for our lack of problem-solving ability."The opposite of a fact is falsehood, but the opposite of one profound truth may very well be another profound truth." ~ Niels Bohr

I'm fully aware of the evil that lurks in the hearts of men because I seek to understand it. And that evil is in all men. Pointing the finger does not work for problem solving. It does work for war, though."The opposite of a fact is falsehood, but the opposite of one profound truth may very well be another profound truth." ~ Niels Bohr

To demonize the other person's/group's worldview is the set up an unrealistic view of good=us, bad=them. You are the slave to whom you make yourself a slave to, my friend. Putting yourself as victim to a persecutor is an imbalanced perspective. It is the opposite of a balanced, potent perspective.

What is it with you and blaming men for everything? I can't even have a simple conversation with you and you blast me into next week. If I had a tank, my finger would be pointing directly at you!"Sarcasm: intellect on the offensive"

So, how can terrorism exist (example "B" from you), when you clearly state that "no one is a terrorist" (example "A" from you).
