    I'm a little confused. Let me see if I have this straight.....

    If you grow up in Hawaii, raised by your grandparents, you're 'exotic,
    different.'
    Grow up in Alaska eating mooseburgers, a quintessential American story.

    If your name is Barack you're a radical, unpatriotic Muslim.
    Name your kids Willow, Trig and Track, you're a maverick.

    Graduate from Harvard law School and you are unstable.
    Attend 5 different small colleges before graduating, you're well
    grounded.

    If you spend 3 years as a brilliant community organizer, become the
    first black President of the Harvard Law Review, create a voter registration
    drive that registers 150,000 new voters, spend 12 years as a Constitutional Law professor, spend 8 years as a State Senator representing a district with
    over 750,000 people, become chairman of the state Senate's Health and Human Services committee, spend 4 years in the United States Senate representing a state of 13 million people while sponsoring 131 bills and serving on the Foreign Affairs, Environment and Public Works and Veteran's Affairs committees, you don't have any real leadership experience.

    If your total resume is: local weather girl, 4 years on the city council
    and 6 years as the mayor of a town with less than 7,000 people, 20 months
    as the governor of a state with only 650,000 people, then you're qualified to
    become the country's second highest ranking executive.

    If you have been married to the same woman for 19 years while raising
    2 beautiful daughters, all within Protestant churches, you're not a real
    Christian. If you cheated on your first wife with a rich heiress, and left your
    disfigured wife and married the heiress the next month, you're a
    Christian.

    If you teach responsible, age appropriate sex education, including the proper use of birth control, you are eroding the fiber of society.
    If , while governor, you staunchly advocate abstinence only, with no
    other option in sex education in your state's school system while your unwed
    teen daughter ends up pregnant, you're very responsible.

    If your wife is a Harvard graduate laywer who gave up a position in a
    prestigious law firm to work for the betterment of her inner city
    community, then gave that up to raise a family, your family's values don't represent America's.

    If you're husband is nicknamed 'First Dude', with at least one DWI
    conviction and no college education, who didn't register to vote until age
    25 and once was a member of a group that advocated the secession of Alaska from the USA, your family is extremely admirable.

    That's because I was correcting you. She did have experience and therefore is qualified.

    Also, she had a higher approval rating than any sitting governor (80%). Seems like she was doing something right or atleast her peeps thought she was.

    Look the bottom line is you don't like her. You are highlighting some talking points about her from the left. That's fine. We're on a left leaning board. So, I shouldn't be surprised to hear this stuff. It's all good.

    She was also governor of one of the most conservative states in the Union, but I digress.

    I must say, it seems like such a cop-out when people pull the "liberal bias" on this board. There are plenty of dumb, talking points statements in this thread, but there are also many intelligent points made. Likewise, I've seen some talking points from the conservative side as well (no offense cincybearcat, but the line "You can't vote 'present' as President" is pretty much verbatim from the McCain speech I saw yesterday). So it goes both ways, and when you do this it sounds like you're out of points you can make.

    i really don't know how one can say her scandals as governor is a left or right thing or the fact she ran Wasilla into debt ... but you have chosen not to discuss any of those issues which is your perogative i suppose ...

    gwb's approval rating was through the roof after 9/11 - it doesn't really mean a whole lot in context ...

    and no - you did not correct me ... experience does not make her qualified ... when i asked you if any mayor in america is qualified to be vp or prez - see your own response (page 2 or 3) ... you ducked it like you are ducking every other issue that makes her unqualified ...

    Common on cincy, you know you hear the mayor blame the city council when more taxes are needed for schools or the governor who blames the State legislators when they have increase the highway taxes. What we don't seem to notice is the Governor and the Senator/House Rep. working to get money and businesses put in that State.

    we dont like her for VICE PRESIDENT... i am sure she is a great person and all, but the people have been explaining in some detail what they dont like about her as VP nominee.... John McCain had the ENTIRE republican party to choose from for who would best be suited for 2nd in command and he chose HER?

    let me ask you this... do you have a problem with her religous fueled opinion that the earth is only 5000 years old? do you think that is a good person to be 2nd in charge of your country?


    as opposed to Obama who selected a very qualified and ready to lead candiate Joe Biden. he has extensive experience with foregn affairs and has authored very strong and widely supported domestic policy as well... he has served as chairman of very important commitee's in the senate including judiciary and foreign relation committee's...

    because historically they always have a lower approval rating...

    most people do not trust politicians and most are not familir with who is even in congress... you see it on the MT all the time when some claim that Kucinish is the only good democrat or Paul is the only good Republican... there are alot of good democrats in office right now but they just dont know it or choose to ignore it, sadly i cant say i like too mnay republicans currently in office ;)

    I agree, cincy was just saying that the public doesn't blame the legislature, the public blames the leader. I was saying that the public right now is blaming the legislature even more than the leader.

    Yes, I'm just saying McCain is in a strange position to speak about Obama being absent from legislation, considering he has consistently been absent from legislation more than any other senator.
