We ALL say stupid things now and then, some people just seem to be more consistent in their stupidity than others. (and I don't mean you. )

I don't really care if you're purple and some kind of alien life form as yet undiscovered brandon, I was just making an equally stupid comment because it would appear that this is a thread purely for the purposes of denegrating women, PJ women, the obese and lesbians. None of which is ok by me.
I realize there's that old adage, don't sink to their level, but I'm a fight fire with fire kinda gal. Figured it wouldn't hurt to level the same kind of sweeping generalizations at those that are dishing them out.

Geez cate if you're gonna talk the talk, you could at least not confuse people and fit the stereotype physically! They don't cope when attractive women indicate they have a brain. It doesn't fit their preconceptions.

Ummm. No. But I think what the media tries to portray as the ideal body type isn't necessarily a realistic one, and because the media portrays it a lot of women try to aspire to it. Which isn't a horrible thing in itself but I think a lot of guys put too much emphasis on it. My point is that maybe lesbians don't.

yep, pretty much just like what happens in the religious threads when people start saying christians are idiots and religion is for the weak. There's not much discussion, save a few people, it's mostly an opportunity to jump on the "bash [insert group]" bandwagon.

gotcha. you're probably right about that, though i suspect guys don't put as much emphasis on it as one might think. and the playing field is being leveled a bit... the same pressure for 6-pack abs and perfect hair is starting to be applied to men. fact is, fear and insecurity will sell more products. there may be something to the fact that when you're living a lifestyle much of society can't seem to accept, whether or not your body is up to the moment's fashions becomes trivial by comparison.
