OJ Shouldnt be put in jail

police misconduct in the oj murder case was the rule. It happened in multiple ways.
yet all anyone remembers is oj
why give fuhrman a pass? Why is he still on tv talking?0 -
sure they didnt plant the blood....
yeah....
the lead detective takes dna from the scene to HIS HOME!
yet all anyone on this thread talks about is asinine stuff.
this isnt some conspiracy theory people.
the jury was right to aquit oj. the police were WAY out of bounds.
I mean, taking evidence home. What the hell is that about?0 -

It's still replayed to this day. If you have seen it and noticed, you know exactly what I'm talking about.

Do you mean Christoper Darden?
I remember that day too, I was in college. It was in 1995.
and remember OJ was going to 'find the real killers?" Yea. that's worked out well.
he wasn't tried twice for the same crime in criminal court, Che, he was tried once in criminal court and once in the civil trial, and he was found guilty in the civil case. He owes the family that money, that was the judgment. They're not trying to be exploitative, they're trying to get what's due to them.
yes but do you think he is going to get a fair trial? of course not. People think he is a killer.
his crime is being thought of as a murderer. If he was johnny whitebread, with no criminal history he would be sent to prison for 6 months. period0 -

I'll agree that one of the people in this thread is talking about asinine stuff.0 -
so police misconduct, racism, has no bearing on the oj case?
I loved how people always acted like it was such a bore to discuss race during the murder trial. Like it was "oh why does the defense keep making up this racism crap".
yet is was the prosecution who brought it up. Race didnt play a part until furhman acted like the racist bigot he is.0 -
additionally whats going on is similar to this hypothetical
if Michael jackson was caught on tax evasion. and the jury found him guilty and sentenced him to 40 years in jail, because most americans think of him as a molester.
thats not right.
oj cannot be tried again for the crimes of the past.0 -
Cheguevara6 wrote:facts people facts:
he robbed a place at gun point. the gun didnt fire. no one killed or injured.
how does that add up to 30 to life?
my whole point is that people view him as a double murderer, yet everyone forgets the OUTRAGEOUS conduct by the LAPD
As I said, who in their right mind hires Mark Furhman? and beyond that, why allow him to be the star witness?
it depends on nevada law. i don't know their armed robbery statutes. breaking into someone's house with a gun is a serious offense anywhere you go. i can easily see it carrying a stiff sentence. there is no way in hell he will get anywhere near that much time.
you're looking at this backwards. ignore his skin color. oj didnt get framed for being black. that's stupid and if they wanted they coulda picked some poor ghetto kid who'd never have had a real defense. oj GOT OFF becos he was RICH. this case is more an example of classism than racism. if you can afford the best attorneys, you can literally get away with murder.0 -

so what? you got what you wanted. police fucked up, the evidence was kept out of court, and oj walked. the standard of proof is lower in civil court.0 -

i hear this again and again.
but can anyone answer me this:
do you think racists, homophobes, sexists, etc.. think of the people they discriminate against, in terms of class, and in terms of how well they blend into society?
Would the PGA not allow female golfers to play at the masters if that female was more masculine?
Is a racist like Furhman thinking of blacks in terms of how "ghetto" or "black" they are?
Is the republican party more accepting of a gay person if they are
"sort" of gay, as opposed to flamboyant and "out"?
I think if you're a racist, you hate ALL blacks period. You dont pick a choose.
Did the white students in Jena really care if some of those black students they intimidated were "not as black" as some?
Just because OJ isnt Martin Luther King and an activist doesnt mean the LAPD and furhman in particular, thought of him as white.0 -
I don't think I've heard one expert predict O.J. is going to serve any more than a couple years, if that. The 30-to-life you're hearing would be the max penalty. You may want to check your facts...he's not just being charged with armed robbery. There are 11 felonies altogether that encompass kidnapping, armed robbery, assault with a deadly weapon and conspiracy. If it makes you feel better, the other five dudes are also being charged with 10 of those 11 felonies.
Aside from that, if you want to continue spending your time defending a murderer and chiding the family of one of the victims...well...I guess some people never get over rooting for Darth Vader. A racist cop trumps a mountain of evidence? Riiiiiiight...0 -
OJ simpson murdered two people. i don't particular care if the poor man is discriminated against any more. though i have to admit tis not his fault the US justice system, or any justice system for that matter, isn't actually about justice, but more about what can be proven and disproven. so kudos to his defense team for helping him get away with murder. they did the job required of them.hear my name
take a good look
this could be the day
hold my hand
lie beside me
i just need to say0 -

i never said they did. i said the fact that he is rich is how he didn't get convicted. snoop dogg was acquitted too... think he was innocent? scott peterson went to jail... he wasn't rich enough. but phil spector probably won't.
beyond that, i dont know what you're talking about with degrees. i think there is huge variance... it's not as simple as either hating all blacks or joining the naacp. there is a lot of ground in the middle. there are people who have subtle latent racism they're not even aware of. people who have no problem chatting with the black guy in class next to them at college, but would feel uncomfortable hanging out with his old friends in compton.
life isn't as simple as you want to make it. you need to go back to the commune dude... it was the only time you've ever seemed happy. you're miserable and pissed off 100% of the rest of the time and that's no way to live.
now go turn on your public enemy cd and convince yourself you REALLY know how it is for blacks. just remember that you actually don't.0 -
For a lack of better words. OJ Simpson is the quintessential shit stain on the underwear of human society.>>>>

che, what is your opinion on OJ writing a book explaining how he would have killed 2 people?
and on a separate note, seeing how you seem to speak as an expert on racism, have you ever experienced it firsthand? i'm just curious.0 -
Cheguevara6 is really OJ!!
You sure act just like him... a fool!0 -

i dont agree with him writing the book.
whats more sick is that the goldmans published it.
thus my slandering of the goldmans is in my view justified.0 -

and don't you think his writing the book suggests he's guilty?0 -
i never said he was innocent.
I think they framed a guilty man.
all the evidence suggests that both are what happened.
I wouldnt put it above OJ to murder someone. And I wouldnt put it above the LAPD especially near the time of the LA riots to be OVERTLY racist and unruly in their pursuit of crime
to me thats the best answer for the case. They framed a guilty man. This is for the murder case at least.
And it looks like he could have been framed again, or at least the victim of entrapment0 -
sure the LAPD has been guilty of racism. but that's apart from the fact that he killed two people. and he shouldn't have been acquitted in the criminal case because of that technicality.
and all those people who cheered him on, saying he was being framed because of his race...you think *he'd* hang out with black people? no....he'd just hang out with *rich* people. that situation was about money, not race, and that's what got him free.
so now, fast forward to the present...even if double jeopardy exists in the judicial system, i'm more interested in karma, and because of that i hope he ends up in jail the rest of his life.0 -
Another OJ trial could possibly take some heat off the war...Progress is not made by everyone joining some new fad,
and reveling in it's loyalty. It's made by forming coalitions
over specific principles, goals, and policies.
