actually, the study shows that really, really stoned mice (those given 10 to 100 times than the low doses) have a drop in testosterone levels...
I do find it interesting no other studies seem to back this up...heck, they've had 25 years to duplicate it...
edit:
Here is a nice article on the good Dr. Dalterio, the author of the "unbiased" study...

In summary: short term gain and a long term loss.

I remember in high school some dude told us since the female plant does all the budding(for smoking), you will grow breasts if you smoke too much...
I'm still waiting, nothing yet!0 -
MarylandTeacher wrote:but there are many who buy their smoke from some guy. While sucking down that last bong hit, it's easy for us to forget how ruthless the drug manufacturers are, carving out their territory on the backs of the innocent. Bogotá, Columbia is a perfect example of a ruined country. Bogotá became a narco-democracy for the better part of 10 years. The Cocaine Trade ran the entire country of Columbia during the late 1980’s/early 1990’s.
Does anyone remember Pablo Escobar? Cocaine didn’t just “find” its way to the US. Somewhere along the line, there were bribes, beatings, executions, extortions, and lives were ruined. The casual drug user may not realize that. For every dime bag that lands in the pocket of a middle school student, countless lives were compromised, if not ruined outright, to get that kid his ganja. And while the marijuana trade may not be as ruthless as the Columbian Drug Cartels, the argument still rings true.

That has nothing to do with weed, but rather parenting. Smoking weed wouldn't cause that. Falling asleep and leaving the from door unlocked could cause that.

Ii enjoy(ed) the occasional join but having worked in Mental Health services (not in the medical side but close contacts with heavy patients), I know for a fact that it is a triggering\aggravating factor in people with\susceptible to mental illness.
the heavier the use, the higher the risk.
if you look closely on the effect on yourself, you will see why: hallucination, vivid dreams..disconnection with reality which is the problem with mental illness is enhanced by drugs, pot being the most easily available and most sociably acceptable with alcohol..but alcohol doesn't quite has the same 'disconnection' effect..0 -

No I blame the person for making poor decisions. You don't see everyone doing that after drinking do you?

The country has numerous problems, from obesity to the use of gateway drugs. Making things illegal still won't stop those determined to use. As an educator, I cringe at the thought of some kid sparking up that first joint, because I've seen the damage that prolonged "casual" drug use causes. The bottom line: if you are a parent, do you want to see a joint in the hand of your 13 year old? I know I don't ever want to see that, and I can think for my self, without help or guidance.Dalai Lama—To say that humility is an essential ingredient in our pursuit of spiritual transformation may seem to be at odds with what I have said about the need for confidence.
